Team 4 - The Raging Booners

Well guys, so ends opening weekend. How'd it go?

I am currently 3 for 3 on encounters. 2 of which brought deer into bow range. Nothing I wanted to shoot so early in the season though.

I will call it a successful opener, even though I didn't draw blood.
 
Had 3 bucks roll in Saturday morning. I had a miscalculation that led to my biggest fugg up ever... Long story short a single sappling skewed my shot. I'll be back out when its get colder later this month. I need time to heal from this one.
 
Sorry to hear about the sapling Alex, shake it off and I hope you get another crack at him. Was it a target deer of yours or a deer you're not familar with?

had two big does and four fawns come in last night, I am just too tired to fool with a doe right now. tomorrow p.a. season comes in and I will be rested up so the does better keep their distance.

I had a couple hours after work to sit. The conditions sucked, but I still saw three. A doe and a small buck popped out around 6:30 and what looked like a good one came out about 15 minutes later. They were too far away for a shot though. The big bodied buck was at least 125 yards out. I have been noticing that they seem to be keying in on an area just upo from where my stand is. There are some huge oak trees back in there. Maybe tomorrow night I will slip back in there with the climber and see whats up.
