Nothing on the cams worth a darn lol. Few doe and their fawns on the one cam and the other cam filled the 4GB card with the wind blown weeds 3 days ago. I did decide to take a quick trip into the north block this afternoon and it is tore up with foot traffic. Also found a few rubs up there. Seems like that is the first section of the woods that we find rubs on every year. I could probably put a cam on one of the spots along the field edge up there and catch the buck that makes them every year since they are in the same spots year after year unless the combine breaks the branches off hanging over the field.

Well, getting pics of Claw today got me pumped up, so this evening o went out and shot two dozen arrows. I've got a 20,30, and 40 yard pin, so I shot four at each yardage, and then four at 50 with my 40 yard pin held at the top of the back. This was my second group today at 40 yards. I am ready to kill something!

Sweet groups there Greg. I think your set and ready buddy. Pity the deer that walks into range.

Wish I had some 3d targets to shoot at. The closest I have is Cardinal for 3d. These bags are getting old and really don't give me a feel for how I'm doing shooting at dots.

I am in the same boat bud. I haven't killed a buck in 2 years. Had opportunities but have passed because of them being not quite mature enough. I may take the redicule and lower some expectations some. Have a little more fun...

See, I have had the encounters with good bucks, but it never fails that something goes wrong. It WILL go right this year though, it has to. I think we will all be fortunate enough to take quality deer this year.

Last year I passed on three deer that would easily be 120-130's. Maybe not this year. I say that but I will give them a pass more than likely. Really, I just need to lay a few does down and all will be ok. I just need to kill something

This year I'm thinking I'm not holding my breath for one of those BIG bucks I have on cam. Seems since I started running cams and finding the BIG bucks that I have been letting that dictate my hunting way too much. After looking at thousands of pics I have learned all the mature bucks out there are nocturnal year round and the only chance I have of a daytime sighting is during the rut or if somebody bumps him out of his hole, other then that you can pretty much forget about it. The only bucks I will see during shooting light will be the young dumb ones.

I'm sick of rain lol. I wanted to get out and shoot the bow for a few minutes today but that's not going to happen lol. Only good thing is that we can make a nice stealthy stroll to the stand in the morning. I'm going to start out in my pasture stand until around 10 and then move over to the woods with the climber until dark. I'm not sure where at just yet but It will be close to the corn field/bean field split. The bean field has lost all of it's leaves so they are just about to where the deer will start eating them again. Play the wind and roll baby lmao.

I just want to help and contribute to the team! Last year I held out passing on 4 bucks like Charles did each in the 120 to 130 range! One at 12 yards standing broadside eyeing a doe. I was after two other 150 to 160 inchers that didn't either show or provide a open shot. I will still try to stick to my guns cuz sure enough if a tag out on a 120 early one of the big boys will come waltzing by me later. I'm just gonna go with my gut during the moment of truth! Just printed my tags online. Not like waiting to the last minute! I stopped by Meijers for some cheap carrabeaners (sp?) and you should have seen the line for tags. Couple of Eminems in line with an absolute cart full of shit. Deercaine, saltblock, corn, complete outfits, two pair of boots, etc... The cart was plumb full! Just a wierd sight I guess.

Well good luck fellas I am going to drink a gallon of water then go to bed soon. All I have left to do is finish checking TOO and packing me pack.
