BONUS. Product review.

I splurged and bought a couple new Streamlight ProTac 2.0 headlamps. I have the original ones and use the crap out of them doing projects. The original is 1,000 lumens. The 2.0 is 2,000 lumens. I mainly use the mid setting and the 2.0 has extended run time due to the larger battery. The 2.0 is a beast. Its pretty hefty but it throws some light!

That road is can't see your hand in front of your face black.

Another splurge. I bought a Springfield Hellcat. They were having a sale with the flush mag, 2 13 rounders and 2 15 rounders. I always have a gun on me when doing my projects. I was carrying a S&W Bodyguard and I knew .380 just isn't enough. 7 rounds too.

The Hellcat with the flush mag is 11+1 9mm. I wear it at 4 o'clock in a Vedder holster and I forget its on me. When I go out amongst the peasants, it moves to appendix and I carry the extra mag.

I have carried a bunch of models and sizes of guns with all types of holsters. I think I found my unicorn! I can't forsee it getting any better than this.

What’d you use too hold the insulation too the garage door? And did it affect the opening of it after it was all installed?

This is exactly what you do when you don't have kids! I have my regrets for not having kids. I distinctly remember this sweet little girl saying to her dad "I love you daddy, I love you daddy". That hit me right in the gut knowing I would never hear that in my life.

Flipside. I got to spend too much time with my brother and his 3 screaming kids. I became OK with my decision!!!

I'm not a rich man by any means though! While we were in Arizona, we saved our money like crazy. For 12+ years we didn't take vacations, I never got my bass boat, no toys or fun things. I knew one day this exact situation would come and I would need it. I just wish inflation hadn't cut what I saved in half!

The previous owner used some sort of faced insulation and he used some sort of adhesive (the green crap on the panels). It was terrible. I bought the faced foam packs from Menards for garage doors. There are recessed lips on the tops and bottoms of the panels of the door that hold it in at those places. Some of the spaces have recesses on the sides you have to jam it in, while also fitting it in the top and bottom lips. I say jam because the screws from the frame of the door extend into that area on the sides. Trying to jam it in while not deforming the area you see and not rip that thin foil is tricky! Some of those areas are larger than the foam, so I had to put the larger piece into the bottom lip, cut the top to fit into the lip and then jam it in so it fits the top of the larger piece. I used foil duct tape (the real stuff with the peel off back) because the foil is pretty much duct style. I know thay stuff sticks like crazy and would match. I can get some up close pictures later. It is strictly a mechanical fit with no adhesive.

I have not tried opening the door yet, but that foam is so light, I doubt it will have any effect. The only reason I am insulating that door is because the shop is insulated.

Great update!! Wish I did half of that 20 some years ago!!
I'm 41. I know I'm not going to want to do any of this crap when I'm older so I'm trying to get it done now! I'm in decent shape, but I still feel it pretty good at the end of the day. Plus, I want to get all this stuff out of the way so I'm not working around all my stuff trying to get it done. There's a method to my madness.

Been working on my latest creation in between other stuff. A garbage can hauler for my atv. My snow plow uses a front mount set up. It is quick detach. I figured I would get more use out of a garbage can hauler! Every week, down and back up.

Awesome! I love stuff like this. I can't say I am good at it, but whenever it is time to do some fabrication work, I am eager to start.

Replaced 5 doors in the house. The front door was a 3/4 oval with sidelites. Waaay too much glass for my liking. All the other frames looked like they had been kicked in at some point!

Also replacing every switch and outlet in the house. Some of the wiring at the outlets was scary!

I'm working every night until 10 trying to get the interior stuff done because once the weather breaks, I have a ton outside goodies to do!

Today I cut the grass and then "dethatched" it. Its not a true dethatch, but a yard sweeper with tines that mount on the front to scratch up the dead grass and leaves. Did it all one direction and then went back over it in the reverse direction. I got around 40 hoppers full of crap up.

I will get some clover seed and spread them out later this week because it isn't aupposed to rain until then.
