How many people would have gotten down and moved 800 yards further in with only 1.5 hrs left of daylight. Most would have just sat out the rest of the hunt or would have left.
Doing nothing often means that’s what you get, nothing. Making that move could change everything. They get bold and do things that put themselves in the path. They make their own “luck”. One of the best lesson from the show, IMO. They simply make shit happen. Anyone can go sit in a tree.

Absolutely, 100%. Their aggressive strategies really pay off for them. And why not? They're only hunting a given area for a week or two at a time... Getting aggressive and taking risks makes all the sense in the world.

Extremely cool and informative video! thanks for sharing that.
I think you should start a thread in the instructional forum pimping this video, every new hunter should watch it.

THERE IS NO DEAD ZONE!

They're on a roll this year. Watch Zach's ND hunt and Aaron's most recent kill in Iowa. It's as impressive a mature buck killing as you see see on TV. Back in the day, Ben Rising was the guy I looked up to for how to get deer killed. If you watch his stuff on Whitetail Edge, lots of bucks are killed over corn. He writes it off as "everyone is doing it and if you're not, you're behind the 8 ball", which is pretty true all over Ohio, but it makes for boring TV. The THP guys are WAY more fun to watch than anyone else out there. Not even a competition at this point IMO.

Ground hunting is adrenaline filled crazyness when you get a mature deer close. If your in a tree and can't make a move your helpless. Love being able to move. Spook a lot but it's a riot. I'll sit in a shooting house for gun season, that's about it.

Gotta be able to adjust! I can hunt almost every area no matter the wind. Lol
