Ahhhhh, Im definitely itching for camping season to be begin! I was just in our camper the other week and all was good. Went in last weekend and I see we had a visitor enjoying some acorns inside in a few different locations. This is one of the reasons I like having the camper right outside in the drive. Got it cleaned up and checked to see if there was any chewing on anything.

Had her open today airing out with the canopy and nascar race going on the radio. Im ready for 60* weather and campfires.

Yessur Yessur. But I've got a tent lol

Chomping at the bit to get out. The boys have been asking a ton the last couple of weeks when it was going to be camping season. So far we have memorial day book at Indian Lake SP and a Mohican trip booked for August. I would like to get a family trip booked for Hocking Hills for the Fall. Outside of that we will probably just hit some long weekends within an hour or so of home. I still need to pickup a new battery and fill up the propane tanks, outside of that she's ready to roll.

Sounds like a great set of plans this summer!

That really depends on the term. Since campers can be financed for 10-12 years maybe more the APR really varies. I think 5.25% is probably pretty standard for up to 84 months at least that is where my credit union is right now.

Cool. I have a lot more on my plate to deal with before this becomes a reality, but it's plausible we could get a camper come fall, certainly next spring. Are campers similar to cars in the regard that good deals can be had around tax time, or are people not looking to winter them and so fall becomes a good time to buy? This will likely be a sub $10K 24-26' as a starter to see how it goes.

No clue on the APR. I won't finance toys. Just before Christmas people start looking for extra money and unloading summer toys. Like Jon said though, after Labor Day on they start coming down in price. About the time people are thinking about winterizing and packing them away for the winter.

Hooked up and about to see how the half ton does with the sled. Headed to Athens for the annual family camping trip to start the season. After that it’s straight to Paint for the TOO family weekend. Let’s go boys!

Yes, I know I need a hitch...I bought a used one and it won’t work with the placement of my propane tanks. I’ll handle that after these two trips.

Btw, update on the little half ton. That 6.2 is nothing short of amazing power wise. I’d put it up with that 2012 6.7 Cummins I had. Suspension...well, not impressed at all. It ain’t made to work. I did purchase another load distribution hitch and will see how it does with that. It’s flat out scary without it. I’m sure it’d be fine with a boat or something that doesn’t have as much weight on the tongue. Oh well, should be an easy fix.

This weekend is a 163 mile trip one way, so I should have a solid idea on what my next step is.
