I didn't expect multiple players to go on social media and make comments like this. Makes it seem as though maybe there is something going on behind the scenes to help explain the lack of passion.

thats a great catch Phil.i think there is something to that. Bet it has to do with play calling and lack of prep. It seems like there was no package for cardAle or JT. They had different games and can't run the same offense

He had 12 chances, and they only amounted to 2.75 yards average per carry. Really makes a coach wanna give the guy the ball with a performance like that. Hell. JT at least averaged 2.9 yards per carry. Lmao.

I agree with you Phil. Definitely does not make any sense. Anyone can call some shitty plays. But to call that many looks intentional to me.
 
I've said it all year! Our OL is just not getting it done on a consistent basis. They can't pass protect, so either QB doesn't have time to look down field or go thru his reads. AND, for their run game! Zeke got most of his yards on his own! Sure, the OL might give him a crease, but Zekes quickness and yards after contact is what exemplifies their run game.
The control of the line of scrimmage is where games are won and lost. MSU kicked our ass at the LOS and controlled the clock to put themselves to win it!

Ole LSU packed it away after their famed heisman contender Fournet got shut down by Bama. They were a force to be reckoned with but after that it's like they gave up.
 
That game was tough to watch! Listening to the interviews on our way home for an hour and a half was sobering as well. Here's my take on Zekes comments after the game. IMO, HE'S SPOT ON!!!

I'm soooo glad ZEKE went off on the coaching staff!!!! I mean really went off because he was right! Our coaches including UM totally made our team a very predictable one dimensional offensive team! Even calling our offense an offense is offensive!!!!!
You must try to throw the ball downfield to give the opposing defense an inkling you at least might try not to run the same read option play over and over! TOU MUST HAVE A BALANCED OFFENSE!!!! YOU MUST BE ABLE TO BOTH RUN AND PASS!

Our ineptness in play calling had more to do with this loss than it did than MSU coming into our house and beating us! They just called a more balanced offensive attack while our defense played the worse game of the season but still only gave up 17 points. They did help our offense out immensely by recovering that muffed punt down near the goal line though.

The Buckeyes losing was bound to happen sooner or later! I'm not upset that they lost rather more upset in how they lost! Predictable and conservative play calling will not win you games against quality opponents let alone big games like playoffs and title games! They are not a team worthy of playoff contention and it starts with the coaching staff! Hope they get all the negative criticism they deserve!
 
You are right Ric but a player no matter how bad the team plays and the coaches mess up never ever should call anyone out.
He just look looked sour and defeated to me.Whiney would be a good word.
If i was the coach i would be having a long sit down with him and see if his mind is on next week or the NFL.
Then decide if he gets to play or not.
I felt in post game interviews Urban took the blame and said it was on him.
Just cant stand a sore loser and to say they were still better than MSU.
Well sorry to tell ya Zeke but you werent better yesterday.

Thank you Ric, I too was glad to know it just isn't me that thinks the play calling stinks and Zeke is fed up too. I will say the media blew Zekes comments out of proportion, I didn't take from listening to his interview with the press that he was "Blasting the coaching staff", He just said he questioned the play calls. Now they need to start again with a big win at UM.

I have wondered the whole season about Urbs passion and how it will be going forward.

Remember he signed a contract with his family not to be too involved. IMHO, it will be pretty hard to be what Buckeye fans now expect and not be too involved...

Go Blue and I wanted the The Always Weak Scheduled Ohio State Buckeyes to win that game.

Going to make "The Game" all the more interesting. I see a Buckeye blow out or they just roll over and give up any remaining games. I don't think it will be another ho-hum game of conservative/complacent football.

Congrats. Harbaugh did what I hoped he'd do: Made UM nationally relevant again. They will stomp our ass this weekend because they'll want it more and play harder. They don't have the same talent (soon will) but they play team football and that wins games. Saturday won't even be a game IMO.
 
Its crazy how much difference a year makes. O state was awesome last year. WTF happened to make them loose it. Even with the bad play calling they just don't have the same drive this year. There lucky to have won some of the games they did.
Sorry but I'm going to have to root for Michigan next week. They make the big 10 look better then O state has this year.

I said the exact same thing this morning Michigan by 21!
Our motivation is non existent.
 
Everyone tends to over react to sports events especially in football. This does not mean that UM will clobber us. It means everyone was emotional after a tough loss. If Sparty had Cook in at QB they beat us by at least 10-14 points. They were better prepared for the tough/physical match up in bad weather conditions.

It's funny, OSU has only lost 2 games in 2 years and both times the fans pointed to conservative play calling as the reason why. The coach gets this way sometimes, and we suffer a loss that was possibly avoidable. It's not the end of the world fellas. This team can hang with anybody. I hope they circle the wagons and get after it this Saturday!
