Lmao.... I feel your pain Mike. It wasn't the best played game by either team. Our defense kept us in the game while our offense and special teams tried to lose it. However, I will take a win over Michigan anytime!

Totally agree Jesse! Our defense bailed us out and kept us in it. OC needs to be replaced as well!!! Constantly wasting TO's and first down plays!!! Pathetic!!! JT needs a coach to develop him into a more versatile QB! NO BODY has worked with him or the receivers and TE in pass mechanics or route running!
This is another very hard game to watch! Love my Buckeyes but with that embarrassing offensive performance on the field and on the sidelines per play calling they don't deserve to be in the playoffs, IMO.
They didn't show that angle on TV...I was really thinking they got over with one on that. Now I feel better, thanks Rick lol
You shouldnt, thats a cropped photo. As a michigan fan, it was close, I initially thought he was short. But either way they spotted it, they werent gonna overturn it either way. What pissed me off was the refs refusal to call one of the three tackles by OSU linemen on the Samuel scramble the play before. They all were front and center in front of refs. Or the pass interferences that they were so eager to call on UM were nowhere to be found on crucial 3rd downs when OSU did the same to our WR's. I did love Herbie and Corso explaining when OSU got away with it how your allowed to grab the backside arm, rendering the WR to one arm, as long as you dont turn them. Haha, nice unbiased commentating. What a miserable way to get screwed

I assure you that there were many PI calls the UM got away with during the game that also weren't called but and a few holding calls that's were obvious misses.. it's all part of the game and there were blown calls all over the place. What I noticed is on offense your early game success lacked. Speight missed a lot of throws he made earlier in the game
I was there also yesterday. Yes it was very loud especially when Michigan had the ball. Was a tough game to watch. We need more offensive options besides JT running the ball and trying to get yards. Something i noticed alot yesterday was there were a lot of open receivers that never got a pass thrown to them. I know the game moves at a fast pace but come on....wasnt our first game of the year. Ugly win for sure, was awesome to be part of it no matter how ugly it was at times. Michigan has a great defense.

Schwartzel is an Athens, Ohio businessman who refs Big Ten games. He's also a life-long Ohio State fan. Without even taking his fandom into account, he was barred from officiating the 2006 Michigan/osu game simply by being from Ohio. Yet he officiated the game yesterday. So this is the situation. You have a self-pronounced life-long Ohio State fan in the position to make the no-call on Grant Perry's pass interference, and the pass-interference call on Delano Hill--crucial, game-changing calls at the end of the game. You also have an official inducted in the Ohio High School hall of fame--someone who is likely connected with other Ohio higher-ups--likely spotting the ball at the end of the game. (I'm not sure if he actually spotted it, but I'm pretty sure he's one of the guys running in from the sidelines along the yard line that he thinks the ball is on.) Whoever actually spotted the ball knew that, because overtime play starts at the 25 yard line, spotting the ball exactly on the 15 will give OSU a first down. Finally, all of this is reviewed by a lead official whom the big ten fired in 2002 for incompetence.
An OSU victory also was good for the big ten. If Michigan wins, it goes to the big ten championship, where the winner of Michigan and Wisconsin will make the playoffs; but if OSU wins, it sits home, while Wisconsin and Penn State play each other. OSU makes the playoffs, as does the winner of Wisconsin and Penn State. That's double the TV revenue on New Year's Eve for round one--money that Maryland and Rutgers and everyone else who sucks and have contributed nothing to anything get to share.
But I'm sure everything was on the up and up. How the hell does 3 officials from Ohio get to ref this game? Especially one who undoubtedly wears scarlet and grey underoos while pleasuring himself to a poster of Urban Meyer.

Look, I'm a diehard Michigan fan too, and yesterday's loss hurt, but they have nobody to blame but themselves. I told a good buddy yesterday that the game was going to come down to the QB Michigan started and OSU's backfield. OSU has one of the best back fields when it comes to INTs and we have two qbs that like to try and thread the needle. You can't do that against OSU, and we paid for it twice yesterday. Add in a fumble on the goal line and they all but handed the game to OSU. Not taking anything away from the Bucks, as they capitalized on Michigan's mistakes. Hell, they missed two field goals that could have ended the game way before OT. Yes, there were calls that weren't made along with bad calls, but those calls went both ways.
Yesterday's game was epic, and it still hurts, but I can live with that. What really drives me nuts is the whining and the shit talking from both sides. It takes away from the game IMO. Both teams left it all out on the field, and that's what a rivalry should be.
My hat is off to OSU, as they came away with another win in the best rivalry out there!

Nosiree, the better team doesn't always win. I point very quickly to OSU losing to Penn St. on a fluke special teams play in one of the most hostile environments in college football. sometimes teams just don't rise to the occasion, and/or make too many mistakes. that team up north made too many mistakes. blaming the officiating is, well, juvenile. bad calls and no calls affect both sidelines. to suggest that somehow the playing field wasn't level is just butt-hurt whining, and that goes double for the head coach of the losing team. he's getting paid millions whether they win or lose. amazes me how emotional the rabid fans for any team get when "their" team loses. as if they actually have something at stake beyond being entertained. the Buckeyes pulled a rabbit out of the hat this time, for certain. the youngest team in the nation beat one of the most experienced teams in the nation in spite of themselves. a testament to their talent, their coaching, and plain old good fortune. an ugly win is better than a loss. The game was much more fun to watch than the iron bowl this year but I still think it's the second best rivalry. Happy to see OSU win but we are not the better team. In other news my Oregon State beavers managed to finally beat UO [emoji1]

Justify it how y'all want. The officiating during that game was blatantly bias. I don't even care about the spot for the first down. IMO he made it and it was a good call. But Michigan got called on pass interference for grabbing the bicep of a receiver on a ball that was way over his head and not catchable . Then when OSU grabs the shoulder of a receiver the EXACT same way on a ball that WAS catchable there was no call. Nothing. That and nailing michigan for Unsportsman like for throwing a play card and headset was garbage. Like I told someone else if that was the norm Sabin would give up 200 yards every game. Sideline warning at most the first time. If it continues then nail him. But to come out the gate with that call is BS.

Good points Joe. Harbaugh asked the ref why that was a penalty. He actually told him "it's a technical in Basketball". Harbaugh then told him this was football. To which the ref says "I ref basketball too". What the hell is that?
Listen, blaming officiating is 99.9% a lazy argument. But damn, Michigan got jobbed, big time. I hope either clemson or washington loses and Penn st wins the Big 10 championship. In that scenario, Michigan gets in the playoff. I would love a shot at OSU on a neutral field with neutral refs

I agree that blaming officiating is a lazy argument when it's bad calls. The thing about bad officiating however is it happens evenly on both sides of the ball. Bad calls are one thing obviously bias calls are another story. At the end of the day Michigan just pissed it away. They should have kept the hammer down and played the full 60 minutes and not just 50.
The bigger controversy is to come however when the committee puts a team in a playoff spot that didn't even make their own conference championship game, much less win it. And if they do that over a team that not only beat OSU but actually did play in the conference championship game and may win it, now that is garbage. We shall see.
They have been on record saying their job is to put the "Four best teams in". I would not want to be in their shoes.
I believe Alabama is number one. Ohio State has shown they deserve to be in there. I haven't seen a lot of Clemson ball this year but what I saw yesterday was quite impressive. Penn State is playing lights out right now. I don't know if they are one of the 4 best but their recent play sure looks solid. Michigan is rock solid. I believe OSU and MI were very evenly matched. Play 10 times and each could win 5. Like I said, I wouldn't want to have to pick "the four best teams" right now. A few really really good teams will be left out.
In regards to "The Game" I really like what Greg said. I have seen a lot of respectful comments from fans on both sides this year. There will always be a handful of extremists fans on both sides. There were 4 quarters to play though. Each team seized some opportunities and missed some or gave up some. IF they play on a neutral field with neutral refs, I believe it would come down to which team brings it. Yesterday Harbaugh was emotional. He was amped. His players fed off of it and really brought it for about 50 minutes. I can't stand UM, but will give them the respect they deserve. That game could go either way if repeated 10x. I believe that. I would say OSU, UM, Bama, and Clemson are the top four even after Michigan losing yesterday. Penn State is a close number 5. Wisconsin is right there as well. Maybe more of a 6-8 ranking.

The only way I would agree with OSU making the playoffs is if Wisconsin beats penn st as OSU has beaten Wisconsin this season. If penn st wins they should be in.
