The drilling pad I’m on is close to some populated rural homes so they put up sound dampening walls around the drilling pad...
 
I could have spent the $20 on a cheap deer gimbal but I have a friend...

The last of my good childhood friends does some amazing work with metal so I asked Jeff to make me a gimbal for deer. He looked at some pictures on line then built me this. Solid steel.Hand work, acid washed, signed, dated and sealed. It will last generations.

Cool thing is now I can use it with my Grandfathers Old block and tackle. They have to be over 100 years old.

This year I had to use a stick of cherry wood and some oil field sized zip ties...

Never again.
