The TOO Dump Thread

Well the truck is back at the shop; throwing a code, they say it is the aftermarket radiator shutters, so OEM will be here tomorrow

Radiator shutters. Radiator shutters. listen to ourselves. WTF are we doing where we have shutters on a radiator and they're monitored by the truck. Was a thermostat not enough for maintaining engine warmup speed This just solidifies my opinion that manufacturers are moving to a subscription model. Buy a vehicle but be on the hook for repairs of extra worthless crap for a lifetime.

All about the CAFE requirements

First I’ve heard of this, from the looks of it mine doesn’t have it. May have started in the revamped 22 models.

Well, it's a tough morning to be a dad. Our oldest just turned 13 and she's heard from dad this morning that "it's not what happens to you, but how you respond that defines the moment." She's loved basketball since she could walk and this was a big year for her as she made the jump from "everybody plays" rec league, to junior high. To get ready for tryouts, she decided to run cross-country and did much better than we expected. Honestly, we thought she'd hate it, but she really enjoyed it and it absolutely made her stronger for basketball. She not only made the team, but proved her worth in route to a 12-1 that earned them a place as the only 7th grade team in the 8th grade county championship tournament, which starts tonight.

For most of the season, she's battled a sore ankle. She's the definition of toughness and grit, but it wasn't healing and her coach encouraged us to get her checked out in an abundance of caution. The x-ray a couple weeks ago was negative for a stress fracture, but the MRI showed a osteochondral defect, meaning she has fluid in her ankle bone. It's essentially and overuse issue and unfortunately, they pulled the plug on her today. She just left in a boot with crutches for the next 6-8 weeks.

It's tough to see your kids be disappointed like this. It's really the first moment for us as parents to see one of our kids face adversity, and to help them overcome it. Knowing her, she's going to grind harder and it'll make her stronger. Time will tell!

Sucks to hear but hopefully she heals quickly.

This is what it sent her. Helps to have fallen on my ass and my face once or twice in life to put me in a position to actually provide some decent advice as a dad 😂

Spot on brother, how we react to tough situations shows what we are made of and it is for sure a time of growth. I have told me boys that I am trying to share lessons I learned when I fell on my face. She will be stronger, mentally and physically after this situation. It is time for her to be the biggest cheerleader on the bench for her teammates. I pray that everything heals up and she has no more issues in the future.
