Good luck to everyone today....this will be my first time in the deer woods and it's all for my 12 year old stepson...he's allowed a doe only this year on this new property so we're hoping that will happen quickly...we are bundled up though and will be sitting in a ground blind facing the wind....he is going to be one tired puppy though, he set his alarm wrong and has been up since 4 am!

Are the kids grown up now? Lmao.
Good luck buddy and to everyone.

Squirmy little bastards!

Heard a couple deer moving through headed to my sanctuary a few minutes ago. Turkeys are starting to cut, hoping I can stick one today! Also decided I'd kill a doe given the chance today.

Got a text from a buddy who heard three different shots @ 6:25-6:30.... Some things never change.....

I told him don't worry they're probably sighting it in lol.....

This has been a really long week, I needed to get some rest. Wanted to sleep in but was still up before 5:00. Staying in for the morning, might get out later. Good luck everyone.

It's cold!

No shots here yet thankfully. Except for me! I straight smoked a big red squirrel right through the noggin at 20 yards. One down, 1,478 left to go!

Well, we had 2 big does come in with 2 yearlings, a buck was in tow that we could see further down the lane...lead doe saw us at 20 yds in the blind and started her stomping...i was telling the kid to move his barrel from the window he was stuck in to the one where he could shoot that stompin' biatch....he froze, chair squeaked, she bolted back to other deer, last bi doe stayed put, he said he couldn't shoot, he was feeling the adrenaline for sure and i tried to calm him down and had him shoot....these deer stood around wondering what the heck that loud noise was, but just on the other side of some brush...we didn't find any blood or a dead deer...kid is bumming but trying to keep him positive
