Did try some rattling. Pulled in 3 does with a young little buck in tow. About to slide out soon. Got to get some work done today.

New to this site. I from N. Illinois but am hunting in Champaign County this week. I hunt Ohio 3 times a year as I grew up in Urbana and come back to hunt a family farm.

Have hunted the past 2 days and am seeing good activity. Had a large buck 100 yards in some CRP last night. He was with 2 does but not showing any interest. Tried grunting and rattling to him with no response. Rattled in a 6 pointer this morning to five yards, exciting but had to let him grow up. Hope to get so e venison before heading home on Thursday. Going back out at 2 after a nap.

Thanks to all who post here as it gives a good read in the stand and has been interesting to see how deer are behaving all over the state.

I had an awesome hunt this morning! Saw that young buck first thing, and then nothing till 840 or so. Once they decided to move, they all did. Four does/fawn, three small bucks, and one dandy with a double main beam on the left side. I'll kill that sucker if he hangs around another few days. Too far to shoot today. All the young bucks and the good one were interested in one mean old doe that slapped the crap out of her fawn before the boys showed up. She's about ready, hope she comes by in the morning.

It's a beautiful morn with just a slight breeze here & there. I was out from 0630 to 1115 & did not see any deer. I was betting my left nut I'd have one. My cams are showing bucks & does & bucks fuggin with the scrapes. I've got trails all thru the place. Uggggh. I'm just happy I'm back on vacation for the next 3 weeks. I know something is gonna happen soon. The day aint over yet!

Thanks, Ric! I have this theory based on previous observation, if it holds true I should see a whopper in the next day or so. The closer she gets to being right, the bigger the bucks that are following. Two days in a row, they are getting bigger. Tomorrow she may have a giant with her!:) I posted some pics in my hunt recap ...

810 had a Nice 8pt come thru as I am hoping to see a mature deer work the area. He was an 8pt and probably only yr and a half. Filmed him. Now watching squirrel acrobatics. Black squirrel getting chased off by some greys.

Nice encounter Phil!

Kevin, you having the next 3 weeks off and today is the start of it?........ENJOY IT BUDDY! That is awesome! Good luck and I'm looking forward to reading your hunting reports.

Lol, I should have been messing with my phone while out sitting. Something always happens then. I'm just itching to get a doe for now, but if Mr Big walks by, I won't be TOO choosey. Things are sounding great for ya Brock.

In the stand for what turns out will be my last sit of this trip. There is a doe who has pissed like 3 times in the last 15 minutes 100 yards away in some CRP. Fingers crossed. Wife and kids will not be happy if I come home without back straps.

I got back out at 3:30 close to where I was earlier, but just as promising. I'm using my Ghostblind this time. It's too warm, no wind

I gained permission on 700 acres by my new house. I just walked about 1.5 miles and am on a drainage leading to a large field. I'm def getting lost walking out of here in the dark
