The TOO Live Hunt and Recap Thread: 2013 Edition

Just set up a blind where I had hunted on the ground this morning. Rain seems to be done. Wife is fuming mad again since I took off to set this up and missed family dinner. Loving this blind set. The Mrs? Love her too but she can stay mad. It is deer season.

They get used too it Phil believe it or not.... My wife was probably the worst when I got back into archery but after a few years it got much better..,.

I know J. Truthfully, there are multiple issues which create her frustrations and stresses. I know you are aware of one of the big stressers. lol

My biggest deal is the lack of "give a damn" when deer season is here. I know it is selfish, but I bust my butt all year for deer season. I am not helping my own cause in these regards.

She needs to understand how hard you work in the offseason now its your well deserved time alone! Good luck Philbert!

In the same boat Phil, only problem is haven't been able to hardly hunt. She definitely feels love through quality time, only problem is I've been working so much I haven't been able to fill quality time with her or in the woods.

I laid down the "November Law" long before KR and I were ever married. It hasn't changed a bit. In November, I may be an absentee father, husband, son, co-worker, neighbor...whatever. If it's in November, I reserve the right to say NO to all favors asked, all duties expected, chores are a distant memory... I am not likely to win extra points from anyone in November. The fever to hunt has changed a bit in me. I love it as much as ever, I think, but I don't lie to myself that I hold much chance to kill the kind of deer I like to until the rut... I'm that guy. I know I'm gonna burn a lot of brownie points come November - because that is when the deer I want to shoot is on his feet, so why burn up those brownie points in Mid-October? My bride and I have been married for nearly 20 years now. Even if someone invites us for an evening out, she will answer "We'll have to wait till after dark"...she is trained. November is MINE, the other 11 months are up for negotiation. :) I should have trained her better in some areas, but I did get that part right.

Nice to hear that you all go through the same with your ladies.... I told mine a while back, I'll stick around all year, but during deer season, don't expect too much! She gets annoyed and crappy at times, but I simply put her mind at ease by saying "Get over it" as any loving and supportive husband would...

Anywho, all day sit planned tomorrow, Saturday morning hunt, Saturday evening, Sunday evening and Monday (all day). Tool off next Friday and Monday TOO! Need to see some action, good luck all!

I'm sure your marriage started with the same ground rules, Ric. However, you have probably screwed yourself by tagging out in October the last two years...she's gonna expect your presence in November from now on. :)

Wasn't trying to sidetrack the thread. Sorry guys. I just knew I was not alone and figured some of you would relate and get a kick out of it. I am like a rut crazed buck right now. Do what I want regardless the circumstances. Thus the reason I am taking a break from paperwork for our business at 1222am to catch up on TOO. Work hard. Play harder.

There is a lot of truth in what you said here Brock! I reminded her though, this will not be the status quo every year and November is ALL mine:smiley_bril:! You can't give them an inch or give any ground on hunting time cuz it's difficult to get back that's for sure!

Well, I have decided not to hunt for the first time I had the option this year. Windy as hell here and I just don't like hunting it. Going out this afternoon.
