I won't hold it off any longer. It twas I. It's been a long spring/summer for me as alot of you guys know. Had my final surgery on September 12 with a 6 week recovery time. Walked behind my buddy's house a couple weeks ago for my first sit. Hadn't been out since between weather and kids sports. With this 3 day wind/rain event we had up here, I knew this morning would have deer on the move. I decided on an inside corner stand overlooking corn and a crp buffer strip. Walking in I had deer running all around me. I slowly snuck into my stand and settled in. Had a doe and fawn move through at first light. About 7:50 this guy stepped out of the corn about 80 yards. I gave a couple soft doe grunts and he came right to me. I stopped him completely broadside at 15 yards and proceeded to fugg it all up. I hit him low and back. He stood around not knowing what happened. Then he bedded for 10 minutes about 50 yards away before slowly walking off into the woods. I waited in stand for 2 hours before sneaking out. I gave him 8 hours before going back out to track. We jumped him up about 80 yards in the first time. We followed blood and chunks of intestines on limbs. Ended up sneaking up to him a couple different times before I was able to get him broadside for a kill shot.
