I got my hearing aids yesterday. It takes a while to get them adjusted properly. weeks of trial and error with Audiologist, and it will definitely take me a while to get used to them. When I first put them in yesterday the Audiologist had them adjusted to what would be normal hearing. Holy fuck, it was loud. hard to believe how bad my hearing really is. They are adjusted down now until I get used to it then the corrections needed will be adjusted up incrementally until I'm at the "normal" level. The ringing is unaffected as of now, but hopefully that improves over time. Ain't no deers ever gonna sneak up on me again. ;)

Like most processes. It sucks at the time but when it's over, it doesn't seem that bad. Make the call today...

I can tell you reading this thread while laying in bed listening to the deafening ring in my left ear last night did not help me fall asleep. Thankful it’s only my left ear at this point.

A guy was in the shop today. While sitting with the liars club he mentioned he had just come from seeing an acupuncturist. She treated him for tinnitus... he said right now he had no ringing. She did tell him if it was caused by Covid or a number of other things she would not be able to help. Apparently his is caused by something else.

I never realized how bad I have it until I started reading this thread. I think maybe I was just used to it. Kind of like living close to a train track. After a while you don’t even notice them going by. Hopefully it doesn’t get worse.
Understandable, but 'hope' is a poor strategy- pls get yourself checked and go from there with the professionals help?

I've got the hearing aids, sleep aid noise makers, etc. It still sux x 10 but better than not hearing the bird calls, my wife, and hopefully my grand kids laffs...

Ringing is horrible right now. I have a window fan in and I'm sitting maybe 7' away. My right ear must be picking up the frequency from the fan and causing my ear to ring the loudest I have ever had it ring excluding shooting handguns without hearing protection when I was young and dumb. Sinuses have been a mess since this afternoon too

Not healthy for sure. I'm sure it has something to do with me not sleeping very good. The acupuncture thing has me interested. I'll tell you what. The human body is a fucked up design from the beginning lol. We could have threads for everything from knees to ankles, shoulders fucked up backs with sciatica down both legs. We could just call it the Golden years thread lol.
