Got skunked this evening, but did get some nice pics of the property owner, his wife, and their dogs walking by my camera Saturday and Tuesday evening. Maybe that explains things...
Looks like it's about time to head to the sportsman club :(
It's a shame. We've got lots if nice bucks on camera, but too much human traffic is ruining it. Nothing I can say though.

Hunted 4 hours this morning and saw 4 does and a 6 pt. Spent 5 hours in the stand this afternoon/evening and got skunked.

A 6 point at the new spot. He came running in right behind us on the trail we walked in on. I think he was bedded nearby and heard the leaves thinking it was a doe.
He stayed just out if range and the boy couldn't get a shot :(.
Any action is better than none though.

Hunted my buddy's new farm tonight. Two bucks, two does. One buck has good potential in the next couple of years, but isn't ready yet. He was chasing the one doe. Cool to watch, but out of range. Would have gotten a pass from me anyway.

Saw the big 12 I'm after this morning at 6:15 with a doe cornered in a pasture fence 20 yards off the road. Took the guy that's hunting with me from bear archery tonight at this location and he saw him about 300 yards away. He texted me when he saw it and this is what he said "Big MFER in the corn". Taking him back in the morning and he says he wants to stay in his stand all day. I had 9 deer walk under me tonight the biggest being a 130 10 point. Seemed to be a lot of deer moving tonight on the way home as well. Should be a good weekend with this cold spell coming in.

Hunted Tuesday morning saw a small buck and an unidentified deer. Tuesday evening, another small buck. Wednesday morning, a spike, and Wednesday eveing skunked.

I stayed out of the woods yesterday because I was so frustrated with the past two days. Gotta work Fri-Sun, then I will be in the woods all next week. Hope things change around here before Monday!

Sounds like we're having a very similar season buddy. If it weren't for bad luck. i wouldn't have any at all.

At my truck thawing out and eating some lunch. Only thing moving for me this morning were squirels. Didnt really expect much with these winds, but its vacation and I cant get one from the couch.

Saw 1 buck yesterday morning and a total of 4 doe yesterday afternoon/evening. Had to get out of the stand at 5:30 last night cause the wife had plans. That sucked cause it seemed like they were moving good.

I hear that. I believe I have the worst luck of anyone I have ever known. Maybe though it's not bad luck, maybe it's just lack of preperation and the knowledge to get 'er done. I'm beginning to wonder...

Well, hung in there today though it was awful winds all day with sleet/rain mixed in. Saw my first chassing of the year at about 6 tonight. The doe came in and I was planning on taking her when I heard grunting coming in from where she had come in. I should have known something was up by how she was acting coming in. I never ended up seeing that buck. Just after that I saw the same doe and her 2 little ones that I have been seeing. At last light I saw a small 6 pt.

Well tomorrow should be a decent day in the woods. Acquired a new property this week through work. Got 42 acres of pretty solid woods. Went and hung a setup this evening. Planning on taking Austin out in the morning to see if there is anything running the property. Once the morning hunt is over with I am coming back and picking up the wife and taking her out for an evening hunt.

Not a good night. Had the big 12 point at 60 yards and Jeff did not see him closing in on me. Jeff was grunting at a 140 8 point trying to call him in. He was eyeing the 8 so much he was'nt paying attention to anythingelse. Well right when the 12 peeked the top of the hill in front of me the 12 looks over at the 8 and chased him away from his doe. If jeff had'nt grunted the 12 never would've stopped and looked over toward the way the grunt came from. He was coming in the direction to the path in front of me which would've given me a perfect 20 yard broadside shot. Oh well. Always another day.

Sounds like a date for you and Mrs. Hoyt.;)

Got skunked tonight. Arrows were flying all around me, but I just was not in the right place. Just the way it happens sometimes.

We saw our first chasing tonight. A spike was dogging two does. Saw a very nice 8 with his nose to the ground in an open field. He stayed 60 yards plus from us. No chance at a shot. Tried every call and he was focused and ignoring me.
I think tomorrow will be a good day. Can't wait til morning.

Chasing in the standing corn field i'm hunting last night but never came out and into the woods. Heading to the same stand I hunted last night to hunt until mid morning, if it doesn't produce I will be heading to a different spot this evening.

Off til Thursday of next week and then a three day weekend next weekend, so should be able to put some serious time on stand. Good luck to everyone that is heading out today!

Saw a doe and two yearlings at the new property. Missed the doe at 24 yds. Shot right under her. Don't know what the deal is. This is my second chip shot that I have missed this season so far. I gotta do something to get this monkey off my back. :smiley_armscrossed:

Getting ready to take the wife out to another our skinny property.
