Got work up north today, so I'm getting a quick hunt in on the way last the blind. Going to try something different today and set up in the high grass about 60 yards E of our blind. I expect to have a decent shoot this morning.

Had a pretty hot field this morning. 1 volley 6 shots 6 birds dead. We packed up and left to save the field for another day.

Congrats guys. Love the gun Mao. I am still shooting a extrema 1. Not sure I will get to do much late season hunting with my surgery. Can't bend over right now or lift more than 10 pounds for fear of pulling stiches.. Keep the pics coming.....

We scratched out a pair of mallards this morning in the short time we sat there. Not near as many birds flying between 7 and 8 as there was this past weekend. I did dust the drake I killed, so maybe the different shim in the Benelli did some good.

Dang, two bands?!?! Well done fellas!

----

What a wet ass miserable day out there today! We layer in corn till 10 o'clock or so and that was about all we could take. We dropped 4 drakes and 3 hens out of the first flock and got another single later on. We saw a fair number of birds but nothing like we saw in there yesterday afternoon. I think the rain hurt us more than it helped us today. It was just raining a bit too hard. The remaining birds just didnt wanna finish like that first flock for some reason. If not for a Christmas party tonight I'd be back out there right now.

It was a decent hunt though. It was Betty's first field hunt and she took well to the dog blind. She made a few good retrieves and was one happy wet dog.

Sorry no pics... No waterproof cameras! Lol

We had a blast today! Only killed two hen ringnecks, but those are the first we've ever killed. We drove 146 miles and 5.5 hours today looking for places to hunt. It was well worth the trip though!

Today SUCKED!!!! Saw a few birds but none wanted to die! Hunted a new spot that has a TON of potential. Next year were going to plant it and build a solid blind. Its a phenomenal water hole about 400 yards off the river but its on a bend so the birds fly right over it bypassing the "S" curve in the river. High hopes for next year I guess.
