On day 3 of 17 hour fasting and I am struggling today. Flat out starving. Hungrier than sitting in a deer stand all day. Imma make it, but damn. Pissing every 30 minutes because of the water I'm using to fill the void. Lol.

This is kinda weird because I told my last night that I think I could get by with one meal a day because I hadn't really been hungry for dinner the last 2 nights, just knew I had to eat. Now today I feel like a child on a road trip! Lol

Natural part of the process as your body acclimates to a new pattern of behavior. Honestly, if I could eat a good meal at 4PM every day, I could 100% do one meal a day.

I was 230 on Monday morning. Was 224 this morning. Let that tell you how much fun I had over the weekend :ROFLMAO:

I'm effectively following this advice, which is how I sustained myself from 2016-2020 when I lost 60#s, rebounded 20 to a comfortable weight and kept it there for 2.5 years. The only difference being instead of lean protien, it's all protien. I eat the fatty stuff, too. No harm in that if you're following all the other recommendations.

I lost 60#s in 6 months with every Sunday being a cheat day. There's some nutritional science that supports the theory that a cheat day "shocks" the system in a productive way. Beyond the potential physiological benefits, there's a clear mental boost from received as well.
I think I'm going to stick with the 16-18 fasting until Thanksgiving. I do like to eat all day Sunday tho😂

231 lbs down to 212 lbs

I started after a long weekend of eating and drinking and have been pretty strict until today. Today I ate Culver's for lunch and pizza for dinner. Both weigh ins were in the evening too. This holiday week is going to be tough but I have already noticed some changes. Like how my watch used to be loose in the morning and tight in the evening. Now I just keep it where it is in the morning. Not all bloated. I will continue.

Down from 230 to 222 in a week. I'd been making some progress around Labor Day, but things got a little sideways for a while. So in essence, I'm back to where I was in early September and can already see a change in my body comp and sleep quality. I've had very little to drink over the last 10 days and it's amazing how much alcohol affects your sleep. I'm going to enjoy my favorite holiday the way I always do: food, drink, football, family, and deer. I'll burn a bunch of calories off during gun season, then I'm looking toward a 72-hour water/bone broth fast December 4-6 and transition that into a one-week experiment on the carnivore diet. I got back to see my doc on the 14th, so I'll get some immediate feedback on how my lifestyle changes impacted my health. Ultimately, the goal is to be "in shape" by the time we go to Disney in June. I do not want to endure that trip fat and out of shape!

I've got a series of little goals stacked up and am approaching it one day at a time!

I have lost 20 or more #s 7 times since 2005. Each time, I had some very clear milestones. The last time - when I lost 60#s - the goal after that was to sustain a healthy weight, which I did for 3.5 years. The goal doesn't have to be just weight loss, but having something measurable to pursue, definitely increases your odds of success.

My week one goal was just to turn things around in the right direction. ✅
The next goal is to get under 220 for the first time in 2+ years.
Then it's to do the 7-day carnivore thing to see how it goes.
Then it's on to reaching a goal weight below 210.
And so...

Do those things and the weight loss will follow by default. Keep after brother!

My first goal was getting back into intermittent fasting.

I know this week will be challenging but I'm going to try to only eat once per day.

EtOH well.... yeah cutting down on it but not eliminating yet.

My goal is to get sub 210 by the end of the year and then get sub 200 and maintain it.

Like I responded to you on IG yesterday, Kristi and I have been straight carnivore for 2.5 months now. I don't think a week would be a long enough trial. We committed to it for a month at first. We still have some low carb (2.6) beer once in a while and I have bourbon socially. We have noticed a huge reduction in inflammation/swelling in joints etc... We both feel a lot better and have a lot more energy. We drink our morning coffee with butter and MCT oil. If you go carnivore, you HAVE to make sure you are getting enough fat in your diet also. We eat beef, deer, fish, lamb, pork and fish and lots of eggs. Our snack of choice when needed is either bacon, or smoked pork belly. Last night I made up 12 pounds of my grandpa's German breakfast sausage and didn't add the sugar. We had a couple patties and 3 eggs each for dinner and could not tell the difference. You have to eliminate sugar as much as possible and keep the carbs low. I have not changed any of my favorite spices, and our grocery bill, believe it or not is actually lower. We both also use LMNT twice a day. Kristi has dropped 26 lbs. and I am down 22 lbs. Kristi no longer has acid reflux or heartburn. Also, she did a ton of research before we started and I kind of just went along for the ride since it seemed like an easy way of living, and it is so far. No cravings for either of us once we got past a couple weeks, and FYI, we both love ice cream. I don't see us going back to any other way of eating, mainly due to the fact of how good we feel..

I use MCT powder in my coffee already and make an elixir of electrolytes and other good stuff every morning, so the foundation is strong there. The goal with one week is just to lock in a menu and the process with the intent of beginning January 2 and doing it as long as I can. I doubt I cut out veggies altogether just because I do like a salad and cooked veggies, but if I'm eating 90% carnivore and vegetables is how I go off the rails, no biggie. I appreciate the info and testimony!

I wouldn't be afraid of throwing in some greens to help with digestion.

My breakfast and lunch are pretty much the same everyday. Some intermittent fasting, 12-16 hours.
Breakfast is 4-6 eggs with cheese and grass fed butter and five sausage links or pieces of bacon. Heavy cream, half and half or coconut oil in my coffee. I just added 1/2 cup of blueberries to the mix this week.
Lunch is 2 cans of sardines in water with an avocado and a protein shake if I worked out before lunch.
Snacks are pumpkin seeds, macadamia nuts or pecans or a protein shake.
Dinner is meat (salmon, shrimp, mahi mahi, meatballs, chicken, venison or sausage) and a green veg like broccoli or a salad, mashed cauliflower, sauerkraut. I cook with butter, olive oil or avacado oil. No seed oils. Absolutely no grains or sugar (except the blueberries). No alcohol.
I drink carbonated water, water, electrolyte mix, mushroom coffee and green tea on occasion.
I'm making positive gains in the gym and all of my visceral fat is gone. Inflation is almost non existent. I still struggle with sleep but overall I feel really good. I hope this lifestyle brings improvements to my prostate health. So far it's done nothing.

Just coffee with MCT powder, H20 with electrolytes, and a quart of bone broth so far. I'm not hungry, but I am craving actual food like crazy! I was cheese so bad I'd punch your grandma 😂

I forgot about having an event tomorrow, so I'll probably break the fast at lunch so I can enjoy some Theos (Cambridge) which I rarely get and love. I'm sure I can eat keto, which is the plan until Monday, then it's 10 days of carnivore. If my BP is back in line at my appointment on the 14th, I'll celebrate with pizza, then I'm committed to going carnivore in 2024. The goal is 95% carnivore as prescribed by Dr. Shawn Baker, which some veggies mixed in. Once I get to my goal weight, we'll see how I feel about maintaining that way of eating, or going back to the keto methods that worked so well for me a few years ago.

Definitely in the middle of a nice reset!
