Great work fellas!

I allowed myself to fully enjoy this weekend knowing that I would get back after things starting today with a new found energy. I did workout on Saturday and had the best workout I've had yet thanks to my buddy. He uses a pre-workout drink called SuperPump Max, so I tried some before our workout and holy shit does that stuff work! I started out with a 9:10 mile on the treadmill, then busted out my full body workout 10 minutes faster than usual. I was definitely sold on the pre-workout drink after feeling the pump all the way through my workout. To top it off, there were not side effects except for being worn out!

I've stayed 100% natural (just a post-workout protein shake) up to this point, but I'm going to change that starting this week. I'm using the SuperPump Max before workouts and I plan to take one full cycle (8 weeks) of Hydroxycut w/o caffiene. The goal is to be down 200 by May 15, which should be close to our first baseball game. I've hit a flat spot in my weight loss for some reason, so I'm gonna cheat a little. My diet has been going well, so I'm not sure that is the main issue. I seem to be building more muscle than I expected, so that has offset the weight loss, but I'm still carrying that spare tire. I refined my workout a little more in hopes of shedding the weight ASAP. Got my fingers crossed!

Ran outside on Friday after work. Did 3.37 miles in 25:18. That comes out to 7:30 per mile. Feeling good about where I'm at for mid March. I need to do a little searching and find a local 5k.

Weighted myself tonight...not seeing weight come off...

You're probably not seeing the weight come off because you are adding weight since you "weighted" yourself. Lol! Sorry, Huck. Hang in there, it will come off, you just gotta stick with it...and maybe cut back on the alcohol. :)

I bought some different stuff for a pre-workout and liked it better than the SuperPump. Had a great workout last night, then went and bought the first scale I've ever owned. I was afraid to have one for the longest time, but I wanted to keep track of my "true" weight and weigh in when I woke up. This morning I was 213.8, which is still down 20+ since the first of the year. I ate like the old fat me this weekend and still stayed level, so I was happy to see that!

I think I'm at a point now where my muscle gain will start to negate any weight loss and 210-215 might just be a good weight. I'm going to get my BMI measured and start making goals based on that. Things are going well so far, just hope I can stay on track!

Jesse, I think body fat % is a better way to judge your health than BMI. BMI is crap and only measures your mass with your height. Get a cheap set of calipers from Amazon and measure your body fat % instead.

PS, I wish I had your metabolism.

I agree that BMI is not much value. At 5'11'' and 171 lbs I'm borderline normal/overweight.:smiley_confused_vra

LOL! But do they take into account that you run a 7:30 mile? Hell no!

Here's a quick and concise article on why the BMI is bogus: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=106268439

BTW, this guy would be considered to be obese according to the BMI...

Just got back from open gym. Man I have lost my vertical completely! Good cardiovascular workout with 2.5 hours with only sitting 10 minutes.

Still hovering around that 213 mark. I elected to not take the Hydroxycut given that it's main purpose is to surpress appetite and I'm doing well enough on my own that I don't need something else pumping through my veins. I'm seeing gains in strength and muscle mass which pushes me to go back to the gym. It's going to be tough getting the next 10 pounds off, but it will happen when it happens. In the mean time, I'm going to keep on keeping on!

I'm starting to think I won't see anything below 213.6 on the scale!!! I tweaked the workouts a little today to get some variety in what was becoming a mundane workout. Just keep on keeping on is the new motto. I know the second I stop, the weight will return...

Busted my ass tonight and had a great workout and ended with 15 minutes on the bike. Felt pretty damn good. I am building a little bit of momentum but would really like to drop about 15 pounds in the next six weeks (the end of the semester). Debating trying hydroxycut...

Like a few others, I seem to have hit a plateau. I 've been stuck at 171-172 for the better part of a week. I did snack a good bit over the weekend, actually none of my food choices were very good. I need to push for some longer runs and get back to not drinking calories (except for beer).

I'm contemplating the bee pollen stuff. I've talked to several people in the past week or so that are taking the same kind and all have lost weight while using it. I don't have much more to lose, so it might be worth the effort. Any one else heard good/bad about the bee pollen?

Jesse that gaspari stuff is awesome. I was talking to jaime about that two weeks ago. I used it in the past and it does wonders for keeping your energy levels up in the gym. you could be dog tired and take it and 15 min later you are screamin with energy.

Best thing about it is it isnt like those crappy pills...where you come down and feel foggy and lethargic...

Got some authentic bee pollen on the way. I'm gonna give it a full cycle (30 days) and see what happens. Being all natural ingredients, I'm not TOO worried about side effects or complications. I'm hovering between 213.5 and 215 right now. If I can lose 5-10-15 pounds with that stuff, I'll consider it worth the investment. At $23 for the month, it won't break the bank if it doesn't help me. I'll have my fingers crossed that it works and I see 205 by May 15th, which is our first baseball game. At this point, I'm willing to try anything to get that spare tire off because the diet and exercise I am capable of sticking to is not enough apparently! From mid chest up, I'm bigger than I have ever been, which is a good thing. From the waist down, I'm as strong as I have been in a long time and I've lost a ton of fat that was hovering around the top of my thighs. It's that damn mid-section! I'm doing 20 minutes ab workouts 3-4 times a week and have built my abs up, but they still have insulation!!!

Come one bee pollen!!!
