TOO Weight Loss - Biggest Loser Edition

Yea I am not ashamed, I was sorta of joking about it being cheating. My insurance doesn't cover it so I am doing with an online provider, it is from a compounding pharmacy. It is the same medicine and way cheaper, they make you get lab work done, monitor your weight loss and side effects. I am happy with the progress so far. I am on 2 shots a week.

Hoping it helps you both reach your health goals! How do ya plan to deal with the avg. 66% regain of lbs. loss when you stop taking, or can it be taken indefinitely?

I see it as a modified yo-yo diet, just less effort (is that a crutch)? I find it crazy that we all know that decent eating (hence the food thread) + exercise (this thread) = general healthy body. Is it hypocritical to say that we should do "hard work" for our job/career but not "work hard" on ourselves?

I am confused about what you are asking? I have been posting how little I have eaten this week along with my fasting. Like I said, this is a lifestyle change and that takes work. Pretty sure I did the shot for 3 months last time and lost weight for 14 months. Gained weight back by plan and then maintained for 6 months.

We have been eating more non-processed foods and I will have to start my exercise routine from years ago. Be diligent with carbs, I am looking at it as a jump start to get some weight off then get back to the things I used to do.

One another note I hurt my kneee on our trip out west in November. I have never had any knee issues or pain. Well I did after all the walking and hiking, got a shot of cortisone in my right knee, then 4 days later heard a pop and had a different pain.

It never got better, had an MRI and I have a torn medial meniscus, some arthritis in my knee but not bad. Doctor says sometimes it stabilizes without scoping it to clean out the meniscus, which does provide some cushioning, as long as it is not locking up my knee, which it isn't.

Brace is helping with pain and doctor said to try and doing nothing for a month and see, scheduling surgery but he said we can cancel it if it is feeling better.

There were 2 questions, based on above data gathered over the last few years. This was reinforced this week when they exclaimed its now available in pill form and has a greater chance of ins. coverage. I know nothing of it, so asking genuine questions on the approach.

As a society, we push trades/hard work/blue collar work over college/desk work these days. Why are we so willing to wear out our bodies for a paycheck/someone else vs. investing in hard work on our bodies for our own self, especially when we know its proven? Heck, you can eat 5-6 meals a day if you burn the calories. So I respectfully disagree when I hear that hunger is 100% mental. I can tell you from experience that my workouts suffer on fasting days, and there are countless times where I can feel my body refueling/energizing with food/nutrition coursing thru the veins after say 2-a-days, or an extreme competition. Theres a difference between survival and thriving. Taking a shot and starving myself sounds like hell, so Im curious why?

I did it as a jumpstart and like @giles said, it is not hard, there is no starving, no hunger nothing. I know it is about processed foods and sedentary lifestyle, I used to be much more active, always on the heavy side, not like the last 10 years. I am looking at it as a tool, not a quick fix, it has made me more aware of reasons I eat besides hunger, like comfort, coping, etc.

This is why I wish you nothing but success Clay. I feel a lot of folks are using it as a crutch over simple exercise. Would love to see a new man outta ya come Strouds!

I have been starving all week! 🤣 I was also full keto flu the first few days. Woke up that way on the 4th day and was able to get moving and it went away. Hell, im hungry now and I had 2 brat patties and a hamburger patty for dinner. Biggest meal ive had all week.

So why not 45-75mins of walking or something to burn an extra 400cal. to eat more?

Because these first couple of weeks is about habit change and detox from carbs and sugars. That takes mental work. Sugar is more addictive than the hardest street drug you can find. To break those habits I have to give up everything. It is how I work. Once I get past the detox stage I will eat more. Once I reach my weigh goal, I will eat more often. The first week is the hardest. It will get easier. It is 100% a mental game. I am no where near starving to death.

When I was on strict keto, I suffered in the gym. I like the gym. I need the gym. It's a mental thing for me, a high. I still eat keto-like, but enduldge (eat anything and everything) at the holidays. I keep sugar and processed food out of my diet, but eat sour dough bread and pizza a couple times a month. Quitting alcohol was the best thing I've ever done for my body. I'm coming up on 3 years.

That is my plan this time. Minus the long term quiting alcohol. I just need to meet my initial goals first.
