@cotty16 hows that Ram doing? How many miles do you have on it now? Any complaints? How about them aftermarket wheels, how they holding up?

I love my Ram! I’m almost at 120k on it. The aftermarket wheels are doing just fine. HOWEVER... I have some serious rust happening. My rocker panels are really starting to rust as is the fender near the gas cap. It’s a 2011 for what that’s worth.
I was close to trading it in for a newer Ram recently. Was trying to get the most value out of it before the rust really took over, but I just can’t afford a payment right now with Kody in college and Klay leaving soon. Plus Klay is in braces and Katie is in braces. So yeah, what would be my truck payment is going toward the kids.

I will get another Ram though. It’s been a great family vehicle for long trips, it’s comfortable, it goes good in the snow and mud, the sound system is great, etc...

Awesome! If the rust is the only thing you dislike, I’d consider having it fixed once you get to that point. $800 a month ain’t no joke!

Looking like the ordering is gonna wait. Just made a deal on a 2012 F250. I’ll take delivery after a couple of things get fixed. It was the first clean truck I’ve found and the price is right. It should fit my needs just fine after some tires, might swap the rims and take the lift off too. We will see. Tires gotta go though... Thanks for going with me Jon!

Right around having it for a year. Besides a turbo and some other small things, it hasn’t been hateful. I’ve managed to put 10,000 miles on it.

I'm not far from joining the Tundra club. If I was more of a mechanic, I'd probably keep driving mine. But she's developing some issues I'm afraid won't be cheap to fix (drivetrain/rear end). At my current payment, book value, and loan balance, I'm in a good position to make a move whenever I'm serious about it. But, finding a Tundra in my price range within 200 miles of here is tough. I don't expect to do anything before fall, but Strouds might see me rolling in with a different set of wheels.

Less about model year and more about mileage and price under 40K. Doesn't need to have all the bells and whistles as long as it's low mileage and is priced right. Seems like I can get into a 2017 or newer and still keep my same payment. I'd even nudge it up a touch to get the right truck.

I have a very close friend who is the marketing manager for a huge auto auction in Greensboro, they are seeing record wholesale numbers, now is not the time to buy a used vehicle. There is no inventory

You can get a new SR trim model for a shade under 35k if you shop and play the game.... Mines a 2014 with 113k on it and it’s still booking just shy of 20k....

Yep... used vehicles, guns, ammo, atv‘s, campers, swimming pools, houses, land... shitty time to buy anything really... aside from low interest rates.

It's definitely a head-scratcher to some degree. We're supposed to be entrenched in dire financial times, yet we're hoarding cash, cars, campers, guns, etc. at a record rate. It's not all stimulus money either. Honestly, I think a portion of it can be allocated to a renewed sense of "Carpe diem" that people are feeling after this lockdown. More living in the present. More rewarding yourself. More preparation to defend what's yours. Etc.

I talked to dad over the weekend about our land contract and whether he wanted to follow through with a spring closing or keep getting a monthly check. For me, low-interest rates and an up housing market says I should close, yet I don't want to owe a bank for my house, I'd rather owe my pops and pay him the 3% interest. He'd also rather have me pay him monthly and make that 3%, so it was a short conversation, but Tracie and I are definitely taking a risk. If we wait a few years and then we have to close, interest rates may boom and the market could tank. It could cost us into the six figures on the deal if things inverted enough. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
