Tow rig/daily driver

Been driving this old thing the last couple of months. Did ball joints, tie rods and u-joints recently. 232,+ miles

I am not too familiar with the 2.7 TurboTax motor. I am not a fan of any motor that has the fuel management system that deactivates cylinders. Many people have never had issues with them. Others have washed cylinders out. If I could delete the auto stop/start BS I would as well.

They say it has a heavier duty block and cylinders to take the extra stress of heavier towing and such.

With all that said I am a big fan of the 3.0l Duramax in the 1500s. Mine is a 2020. Bought new and have had minimal issues. Had a check engine due to a software issue. Mine is also included in the transmission valve recall. I have not had any issues with the transmission but it will need replaced eventually. Will be covered as part of the recall.

I’m not an expert in motors, but beings the 2.7 is only a 4 liter, I don’t think it has the cylinder deactivation deal, which my current truck has and that leads to additional issues I’d like to avoid.

I believe a good friend of mine also has the 3.0 DM and absolutely loves it. He told me he gets average 33mpg which is insane to me 😂

Remember when I said I was keeping this one stock?! Lost a CP4 pump a couple of months ago and parked it until I could afford the turbo to match the DCR upgrade. KC Whistler stage 2

Thats no good, sorry to read that Dave but way to take advantage of the upgrade. How many miles when she went? I was just talking with a buddy and CP4s the other day at football, seems it is hit and miss. Did it trash the entire fuel system?

All good, part of owning these trucks with the CP4 pumps.

180,000 miles and 12,000 hours

No, I had the disaster kit. One of the first things I did to the truck. Very thankful I did. I highly suggest this for anyone (powerstroke or duramax) that has a CP4 injection pump. Save me over $10,000 in repairs. My turbo wasn't out but it was on its way soon so I saved myself some labor by just upgrading now while it was torn apart.

All in all in am still very pleased with the truck and the upgrades..

S&B intake
Cold side pipe
5" exhaust
CCV reroute/delete of filter
KC Whistler stage 2 turbo
DCR injection pump
2" FFS wheel spacers
35" Trail Graps
EZLINK tuner
Custom tuning

Next up will be the trans. That video is on my tow tune. Zero chance the trans will last on much more. So I plan to do injectors when I upgrade the trans. It'll be a full stage 3 build at that point. (My stupid ass just can't resist...I should bought a gaser!)
