Still no word from the dealer or GM on when the replacement valve body will show up. For now, I just have to deal with it. I’m pretty certain 3rd gear is the one hitting hard. Drives me nuts every time it happens.
That's terrible. I swore I'd never buy another GM product after the transmission and inhector problems with the last one. It was a 2017' half ton. Sad that they still don't really care enough to take care of the customer. I guess the die hards are like democrats voters😂
 
Our 2019 Chevy Silverado developed a transmission shudder a little over 3 weeks ago. It would most often happen around 48 and 62 mph at steady speeds. Engine and power train warranty was 60K and we were at 73K, convenient. Spent several days on the phone with GM customer service and clearly got the impression they knew of the problems, class action lawsuit and all. We also were led to believe they were going to be willing to help us out. Dropped it off and almost a week and a half later we finally picked it up last Tuesday.

They did some “diagnostics” on it and the recommendation was to do a flush and replace the transmission fluid, $487 😵💫. We called the GM customer service person we had been talking with and were flat out told it was a maintenance issue and they would not be helping with the cost. They further stated that since it was out of warranty if this didn’t solve the issues that we would have to take care of any transmission repairs on our own. Clearly a different tune than what they were saying before we paid for the flush to be done.

So far it seems to have taken care of the shudder but we also haven’t driven it much since Tuesday. Should know more after driving it this weekend. It may end up at a dealership again if it comes back, on the used car lot. I’ve always driven GM vehicles and just sold my 2000 Silverado with over 340K miles on it. They used to be reliable. Clearly with lowering their power train warranty from 100K they know there’s problems, they just continue to sell them that way.

GM had issues with their 90’s vintage S/U/V’s as well as their small trucks. Torque converters would shudder when going into and out of locking for overdrive. It felt like going over rumble strips. They would flush and send you on your way, until the next time it’d do it. By then it’d be out of warranty.
Just like their ABS sensors. They’d pull, clean, reassemble and say its good to go….. Until it wasn’t. That’s why I don’t own any GM products anymore.

Yeah I'm done with them also. Wife's 08 Impala is getting traded in on a RAV4. Never thought I would buy a Toyota but I'm tired of getting fucked by GM. I worked at power train for a couple years and there's more foreign parts than America made in the transmissions . I worked every line in the plant including valve body.

Had the shutter issue with my Colorado. They triple flush then put Mobil one fluid in it. That was about four years ago and it's still good. Runs in the 118 to 120 degree range. They should have replaced the torque converter but no. There's a service bulletin for it so no money spent. Yet lol

I'm not qualified to answer that, but I think the thread name can be whatever anyone wants it to be if the sticky gets a 2nd motion. Don't let me down lol!

Not bashing just what is going on with our vehicles. I hope to get some years out of the Colorado. It has the V6 in it so at least I know the motor is good.

Just having fun GT, many years of funny history on this topic! But man, the benefits of a dedicated sticky is there, especially the good financial benefit as Dave noted. Then people wouldn't have to dig through 83 pages to find these nuggets of gold. There's a solid 3-4 pages worth of knowledge, across 90% of the GM models i wager lol. Most that aren't even a towing/daily driver option though. But hell, 99% of the Yota owners in this thread don't tow anything anyways, so it's all a wash🤣

I was GM man all my life, my old 2000 Silverado is the best vehicle I have ever owned. Sadly when it came time to get a new one I wasn't convinced that a GM product was the way to go, so I got a Toyota and now it has a dang recall for a new engine. Thankfully Toyota seems to be stepping up and handling the issue.

IMO, that is the difference here. They are standing behind the product.

Just bought myself a new Hunting truck from a original owner. It turned over 88,000 on my drive home. I'm going to miss you he extended cab but it was so clean I couldn't pass on it. Took it the next day and put some Falken AT4s on it. Had to get those car tires off of it.😁
