Trapping Season 2025-2026

First check of the season and it was a good one! On the board with 17 muskrats today. My water sets were on fire… mostly around huts and feed beds. I did have 20 conibears set on bank runs and those were disappointing, catching only 1 and had 1 misfire also.

These rats up here are usually pretty big… L to 3XL for the most part. Last year I averaged about $2.50 for the pelts. I expect it’ll be similar this season, but I’ve also got a buyer for the carcasses… so that will get me an extra $1.50 each.
