I struck one about 9:30 and worked him for almost an hour. He was across the holler from on the opposite ridge. I made the long, slow trek around the bowl to try to get to him. He would gobble every so often but was working away from me. Never did lay eyes on him. Rain has picked back up a bit but looks like another break coming on the radar. Trying to decide if I wanna wait it out

Well I decide to call it quits after that. Was on my way back north when my truck took a shit on me. Mostly likely an oil pump. Had to get a tow from Gallipolis to Jackson and rent a car to get back to Columbus. Overall a real great day 🤬
Shouldve said something. I rained out today and was all over the place! Hell, I was even in Chillicothe and Columbus.

Last year I hunted WV 3 times. Killed 2 and called in another for a buddy. This year I’ve had one answer one time. Only heard two. Probably the same one. You know what they say about dogs and their hind ends.

A good morning in WV. After the temps warmed up so did their vocal chords. I had 5+ respond later in the morning. While trying to get on one bird this one gobbled on the point behind me. A few soft yelps and he came down a steep bank into the bottom with me. Yes that weight is correct.
