Top enlisted soldier calls out leaders to ‘show up’ at PT
The sergeant major and others see physical training as critical for leadership development.www.armytimes.com
I like it. Call out the brass. Lead from the front. Lead by example. Most of the brass I encountered couldn't pass a PT test. Almost never took a PT test with the company. We did have a battalian commander take one with us once. I smoked the entire company and battalian commander on the run. He wanted to know my training regimen because he was some big runner. I said "Sir, sometimes my dog gets loose and he's a runner. I chase him once or twice a year. Otherwise I run 2 miles a year for Uncle Sam." It was fantastic. He chuckled and we chatted a bit. It didn't take long for him to figure out I could haul the mail without much training.reading it I can get behind some of what their saying , I believe reason suicide rate is down is because we aren’t deploying to combat zones nonstop
