You didn’t hear? Biden administration extended all IRR dates by 24 months….. 😳
My commission is resigned and i have the orders accepting it.

That being said the .mil has asked for it and is we get into any actual conflict in the next 24-36 months our medical is screwed. They have been making it virtually impossible for anesthesia providers to make 04 & O5, eliminating the ability to retire. The 66F force is almost as low as pre 9/11 numbers and that's not good.

How’s the #’s on the reserve and guard side of the house?

That's mainly the reserve side of the house. Army reserve has like 75% of ALL the Army medical in it, and the Army has like 50% of the entire DOD surgical capability.

They had us over strength for years and have cut back to just under "optimal" but they found out after 9/11 that optimal isn't enough to run a war in 2 separate countries. They are also losing all the deployment experience of those officers with 10-16 years in.

You’d think they’d learned their lesson, but with new commanders every couple years and with their agendas, things get overlooked. Then it’s too late when they’re needed. Happens all the time unfortunately.

Veterans and survivors who apply (or submit their intent to file) for PACT Act benefits by 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, August 14, 2023 will be eligible to have their benefits backdated to August 10, 2022 – the day that President Biden signed the PACT Act into law. This is an extension from the original deadline of August 9, 2023. We encourage all Veterans and their survivors to apply – or submit their intent to file – for PACT Act benefits now by visiting VA.gov/PACT.
