For any of you locals that fish the run, there are still craploads of walleye in the river and nobody to fight with to get them. We've been crushing them all week. Not sure what this rain will do to them, but we are giving them hell tomorrow morning for possibly the last time

Anyone else remember when the limit was 10? Man did that make for some miserable finger on the long hikes!
I sure do, Man was I spoiled. I laugh when I tell my buddies that back then, if I only had 4 on my stringer when i left the river, I would give them away. I was only 18-20 years old, so it was a kick to the ego if i couldnt get close to my limit. Now I treasure each and every one i catch. Im so glad they changed the lim it. I hope they never go back to 10

I went to buttonwood this afternoon for 2 hours. I rolled two fish and that was it. I didn't see any fish caught either.
Well? I know the water is still cold...but still nothing to report? As J would say “cum on guys”.

I went again this morning to bluegrass island. I fished for 3 hours and saw less than 10 fish caught.we need some rain and warmer temps to kick this run into full swing. Here in about a week I expect the fishing to get a lot better. I have heard the bite has been quite a bit better in the evening but I can't get out in the evenings.
Is it even worth me digging gear out for this weekend or should I just rest and enjoy family time?

Multiple limits being caught yesterday and today.... fishing has definitely gotten better the last few days. With the warmer temps and rising river I would say the fishing is only going to get better in the next few days. Unfortunately my daughter is on spring break right now and I have to work all weekend. My next real report will most likely come on Tuesday.
Thanks buddy, I haven’t netted a river walleye in a couple years. I’d like to change that this year.
You rike to see warreye? We are on shutdown through Easter, so I finally made it up there this morning. Took about 45 minutes to get my first three, then another 45 to get my fourth.

Gonna try and beat that after work rush. Packing the car after I gather cloths and gear! 3.5 hour ride in my future, already drove 4 hours today
