Understood. I disagree. Opioids, Meth, etc. should not be legalized in my opinion. That was the part of rehab I was referring to. My family has been directly impacted by opioids and there is no way I could support its legalization. I hope no one ever has to deal with a family member that will do anything for their next fix. I do not think they are in the same league as pot. I respect others opinions though, these are just mine.
Please do not take this as a slight to the devastation that opioids have had to your family.
Read the book Dreamland and see how big pharma specifically Purdue have made billions on them. It is a great read about the perfect storm of circumstances that lead us to the opioid epidemic.
Addiction can have devastating and deadly consequences yet gambling and alcohol are both legal, what makes them different? in how the addict sees them, nothing.
If you look into some of the crime statistics and influences from the war on drugs that leads to some of the injustices that lead to organizations such as BLM you'll see how there are racial undertones to some of it.
If we legalize EVERYTHING then we can use the taxes for those who want help and for other societal gains rather than us dumping billions of dollars into the police and judiciary system for an unwinnable war on them.
