I really hope you can deflate Moe this season, Jesse... That would be one hell of a story! But I really want to see Captain Jack make it to next year. After seeing what he's grown into this year, I gotta believe he will absolutely blow up next year if he can make it. He's gonna be a giant!
I agree and I bet he'll make the pass list once I see him hard horned. I'd like to think I'm sure to get on at least one or two more good bucks that will be 4.5 or older before it's all said and done with. It's an uphill battle around here to manage for 4.5 year old deer, but it's worth it IMO. Captain Jack has potential to be a mega stud next year, it's just a matter of him staying away from the rest of the neighborhood. I'll let Tracie shoot him no matter what and the same goes for the majority of my "clients" this fall. But I'm pulling for him to be my priority target for the 2012-2013 season!!!

HAHA! I'll tell you something right now, if that deer is still alive in January and I'm keeping tabs on him still, he might very well be off limits! LOL!!!
Seriously though, its not unlikely that I'd try to protect him at that point. I told Ryan earlier I was "disappointed" in his growth from 3 to 4. I can't always expect a Deucesque 40" jump from one year to the next, but Moe's 20-25" was a little less than I'd have liked to have seen. Don't get me wrong, he's dead and I'm happy as a big in slop if it happens. But I can't help but wonder what he'd be as a 5 year old!

Awesome pics of Moe and Capt. Jack! Hope you get a crack at Moe before CJ because he would be very hard to let walk and I'd love to see you bust Moe this year. Do you know if anyone found Moes sheds this past spring? His core area(sanctuary) can't be to far away if you're getting this much film of him. Goodluck this fall buddy!
No find on the sheds. Where he is staying is super thick and places are so thick you have to crawl. I walked some of it this spring, but because he was carrying his rack into the second week of March, I waited until the end of the month and it was greening up already. I made a piss poor effort to find them honestly, but I did look! LOL!!!
