I guess I could say I collect trains, though I've had more activity recently building & collecting smokers. I haven't messed with the layout for a while, but here's some pics I took today. This is N sale ...

Just to be fair, here's my new open pit bbq I just finished building ....

I would like to make a suggestion to all. When you decide what item to collect, pick items that are still usable, they seem to be the things that keep going up in value. Right off the bat, baseball cards have lost a lot of potential customers over the past 10 years. They are fun to look at but not usable, especially if your trying to find a buyer.

Consider thing like guns that are usable and collectible, and fairly easy to sell.
Vintage guitars are attractive because you can play them. The older the faster they sell. New ones just don't sell.

As for Enduros, mostly early 70's motorcycles that you can ride, like yam enduros like a JT1L, Bultaco Pursang, Matador, Hodaka Super rat, a Harley Hummer, certain Hondas like a "Postie".

The dumbest collection I have, is Las Vegas Casino ashtrays. Cheap but disappearing very fast. An item you should not use.

Here is a pic of the poster. IIRC, it is from 1933. I have some vintage Wheaties boxes as well. One thing I found when we were cleaning out a room at our Co-Op was an old map of the United States from 1931. It has pretty nice color and is in good shape. Not sure if they are valuable but it sure looks neat

I collect old decoys, shed antlers, and most of my money goes into hunting and the dogs. Hoping to someday establish a solid breeding program.... but we'll see.

I do Guns, old fishing poles, reels and lures, knives, full match books to name a few but one of the odder is the RCA "little Nipper".
Like some of you will agree with, sometimes, you don't know your collecting something until you look up and realize you have a few of something...

Some of you will recognize this icon and remember the caption "His masters voice"
In a nutshell, RCA started out using it to illustrate the clarity of the gramophone's ability to reproduce a voice. It is said the dog and gramophone originally sat on a coffin as pictured by the old tray I have below. As it was determined a "a little to much", the shot was eventually thghteded up to just the dog and gramophone...

And now you know the rest of the story. Good DAy!
