Ran a weedeater yesterday from 3-7:30 while the wife did the riding mowing. We got all the yard work done in record time. Cut in 12 soffit vents today which was a hot, dirty ass job. The wife planted some flowers, then I cleaned up the landscaping and driveway a little. The house is looking pretty good right now and that's TOO good!

Have a ball game to coach at 6, then off to BW's with the Flutemans to watch the fights tonight. Going to spend the day at the farm working on stand locations tomorrow. Chilling next to the river on Monday. Hell of a good weekend!!!

drive 2.jpgdrive 1.jpgWe have officially moved in with parents for the next 6 months. I'm sure this will be interesting. I'm already bored with little to do responsibility wise. Today we closed our home sale and transitioned to the new buyer. I scheduled to have all utilities and insurance out of my name at the end of today. This morning we have started on our new driveway. Here are some action photos.

Good stuff Ben.

I know we're in way different stages of life, but in my current "move back in with the parents", I'm just taking it as a blessing to be closer to my parents geographically than I have for 4 years (especially after spending less than 2 months combined under roof in the last 22 months). And trying to be a blessing to them by pitching in where we can... enjoy it, and I'm sure your kids will have fond memories of living with their grandparents for a few months!

Indeed, My Dad is getting some good use out of me already. In the past 36 hours I took their recycled items to the recycle center, scoured the oil drip marks off his concrete driveway (cal dec sac life), carried his table saw out of his basement so he could rip some boards outside yesterday, and caught and released 2 pesty coons that have been causing havoc to their birdfeeders, deck, and back patio. So far, it's a win-win and I'll be saving up some money over the next 6 months to offset my cost overruns.

Love seeing the action pics Ben! Got to be a good feeling to watch the progress! We have enjoyed some small stints with my parents over the years. During "the ice storm" we resided there as my mom was recooperating from surgery and Erin was with a newborn at the time. Lived there for a week or so while we remodeled our only bathroom (at the time) in the evenings. Lived with them in a popup camper for a week in the Smokies. Honestly though, those were enjoyable. Not sure how well it would work for months at a time. Best of luck to you. Enjoy it while you are there as we never know how long we will have our parents.

Sounds like a good time for you as well Cotty! You and the boys enjoy yourselves!

Sometimes life just works out. One problem and it's stress is replaced by an immediate solution.

I have been stressing a bit about cash flow. It was getting a bit ugly. Next thing you know, I land a $1500 job and the guy puts half down on the spot. Come home, open the mail and one of the checks which was really hurting the cash flow had shown up today! Not going to change the world or enable me to retire any sooner, but at least the financial stress for the week or two are out of the way as I await the other checks hindering cash flow.

Example 2: I get a phone call from one of my guys today and he wants to meet up with me and talk. He is a newer guy and not as critical as say the foreman, but still a body to replace. On my way home, I get a phone call from a friend that is a teacher. He is looking for work this summer. Stand up guy and hard worker. Might not be a permanent fix, but sure helps in the short term. Ironically, my worker today met me at the house and gave me notice in person (which I found honorable and respected). He said he can stick around until mid or late June but then has to move back to Indiana with some family due to some issues. The ironic part of this is the teacher can't start until. . . mid June!

I don't know what else to say. Just seems whenever things fall apart, you hold your head up, keep your faith, and the good Lord allows you to keep rolling! In my eyes, that is TOO good!

Thanks Ric. I felt like sharing a witness to how the good Lord works. Sometimes multiple issues build up, stress you out, and they just start to weigh on you. I am not special. Happens to everybody in life at different times. Having that blind faith sometimes is the reason you just keep going. Yesterday was one of those days when God let me know he had my back. Nothing to worry about. Just keep plugging along with faith and knowing you will be taken care of is a feeling like no other! TOO Good!

You and Tracie enjoy the show Jesse. I am sure that is going to be an amazing concert!

Well, i am attempting a new attitude here lately. I am avoiding bitching about the rain in the dump thread. Instead, I am taking this dreary/rainy morning and midday as an opportunity. Rather than waiting like I initially planned, I am heading out with some more cams to hang. I have one out now, and another at a shared property. I think I am going to hang 3 more here shortly, hope the rain moves out and our top soil dries up. . . .then I will start working again! TOO Good!

Enjoy the concert Jesse, i'm sure it will be a great show!

Enjoy the temporary lull in work Phil and get some cams hung, because the grass will be growing like crazy after this rain we got! Buddy of mine got 1 and 6/10's over this way.
