We saw one along 61 between Sunbury and Marengo last weekend. Pretty cool stuff seeing those birds up close!!
Had a fun day checking snares today as Ric and his daughter Karissa came up and ran them with me.
Was fun to catch a blonde female yote and see Karissa get to shoot her first wild animal.
What a nice young lady Ric and his wife have raised.
Sure was a fun day.

I am in agreement. You have a pretty daughter. I will be asking for pointers in a couple years on how to beat down young boys. Mine is 13.

Make sure you teach them how too handle a gun.... They didn't have tactical classes and all the self defense geared towards females when mine was that age..... Worthwhile investment in my book.....

Awesome!!! Took my fourteen year old daughter to basspro today so she could shoot her bow. Had some window lickers watching from the outside and i was thinking that i'm going to have my hands full lol!!!
Lmao TOOzers! Both my daughters definitely got their looks from their mother! Karissa is also a very hard worker in the classroom and loves the outdoors. I'm so glad she wanted to make the trip with me so we can hangout together. We did some shed hunting with Ron and his daughter Mattie and shared some laughs as we got drenched.
So I decided to go out looking for antlers earlier today. When it comes to finding any, I am pretty much luckless, so my walk in the woods this time of year is more a time for reminiscing of years gone by while in the woods. Up on a certain hill I like to go is what's left of a bench my neighbor & I built years ago. He's gone & this doesn't have much life in it either. I was at this spot back in November where I looked things over while watching some tractor / excavator work on a fence line about 100 yards away. I wanted to go see what all that commotion was about after waiting for the end of deer season & today was the day. Anyway, while looking over the old bench, I noticed two cast iron skillets underneath. I'm sure they weren't there back in November, and I can't figure out why there were there at all. There was still ice in one & they were in rusty condition of course. Just no rhyme or reason why there were there. I suppose someone found them & decided to leave them there perhaps for another time. Dumbass. Just one of those mysteries that will stay with me forever I guess. Anyway, one is a Wagner & the other I'm guessing was made in Korea, since that was stamped on it.
Here's some before & right where I am now with them pics. All I used was a potato & salt to clean them....
I have to believe these had been outside for a very long time & that makes me wonder how many big bucks had walked by them.

I bought a brand new Lodge 10" at the Traders days last spring for $10. I have it seasoned up like an old timer now. Love that bad boy!

The new lodges are pretty good but i cant stand the bumpy casting until they are heavily seasoned.

Got to stop and see Adam last night. Always good to see a Tooser in person and carry on for a bit. It was a short unexpected stop but better than none.
