It's been an 🎬 action packed ❄️ snow night at the feed sites all night. This was Junior's 3rd visit tonight, and he brought a buddy with him, too.

10:00PM, Saturday, January 14, 2023: 'Deer & Woodwork Duties'

It was nice to get out after being coupled up the last two days because of all the nasty wet rainy weather.

20230114_123528cover.jpg

Scioto River is still overflowing her banks when I drove over it this afternoon too.

All the cutting business was originally planned ahead of time, and since I still have a deer tag, I went ahead and took care of all the deer stuff as well. I worked at the other farm this afternoon until shortly before sunset.

I also included additional deer TC captures from that property of just prior and just after my arrival and departure there. Hope you all enjoy, and good night!

Video description:

Since I fully intend on hunting for one more deer with my compound bow, and I originally planned on cutting down some more trees at the other farm today, I also decided to swap the SD card & batteries for the Tactacam Reveal X cellular trail camera as well and lay out another 50 pounds of whole corn for the deer since it'll be possibly a couple of weeks before I get back to them again.

As I was wrapping up for the day right at sunset, deer were already feeding at the feed site, also right at sunset, and while I was leaving the farm, driving down the road, I looked over and saw several deer standing all throughout the cup area and the far back east edge of the cornfield, nearest to the woods and the big pines, making their way towards the feed site.

I also found my work eyeglasses that fell out of my pocket during my last time muzzleloader hunting. I knew that I dropped them in the cornfield shortly after it happened, but I could not find them in the dark, even with a good flashlight. I knew I'd be able to find them in daylight, and I'm darn glad that I did too because they're my last decent pair until September.

Anyhow, all the work I accomplished this afternoon is what I consider to be normal work duties for that property, which is to clear timber, including any deadfall and take care of all the wildlife too, not just the deer. Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

Good morning all, it be chilly outside. Planning on rounding up more firewood today once again while the weather is fairly decent and I'm still way behind in the catching up business.

Anyway, the other farm last night and this morning appeared to be rather busy with deer and I just pulled down some of the better trail camera captures of them showing what all has been occurring since I left the place yesterday evening.

Take care TOO'ville!

I opted out of the loud walk this morning. Might do a mid day threw the evening hunt.

Well, if you do make it out Dave, I hope it's a bunch of fun & very productive for you! Best of luck to ya!!

Also, I apologize for not getting back to you right away regarding the TC temps on the rise thing while in operation. From my experience, all trail cameras that I ever used since 2016 do that, just like most anything else in life that works really hard in a short period of time and will generally cause heat.

Also, every trail camera model and brand bother the deer to some extent or another, and it's up to we the the users to go about the install process in such a way to minimize all the risks of disturbing and/or upsetting any deer for whatever given location or area.

The only trail cameras that I use nowadays are the three Tactacam Reveals, one at each of the three feed sites only and those cameras really do not bother the deer while eating, and they have become quite accustom to them by now.

Have a great day, Dave!

This has been the worst deer hunting year of my life. So I don't expect much change beyond the mental break for this afternoon. But thanks.

Must be the flash that warms them up. I've noticed a little rise, but that one set of pics was pretty extreme. 13* or something in a matter of minutes. I suspect of its the flash, it would be more noticeable in cold. Hmmm

01/15/23 - The Dark Side of the Moon 🌙

Video description:

Passing the time away for a brief moment, taking in Mother Nature and all her beautiful glory while thinking of my two young adult sons.
Even though it's family Sunday, I still needed to catch up on the firewood for our loving animals before the next go around of wet weather that will be here starting tomorrow and stay for couple of days, and so, once again, I took advantage of this gorgeous January 2023 day by getting some outdoor chores done.

Today, and perhaps over the next couple, I'm gonna try to take it easy and rest up the old body of mine. I'll be house keeping inside the workshop, trying to get organized better, especially my hunting closet because it's in complete disarray.

Anyhow, I'll try to continue this posting of anything significate pertaining to deer trail camera captures of mine throughout the day while working in the shop today. Hope you enjoy.

I wish everyone a wonderful day & week, and try to stay dry too!

Take care,
Denny - a.k.a. Wildlife, WlidlifeOhio

Like I said, I'll continue showing the very latest of what was observed regarding deer activity that occurred moments prior as soon as they become available to me.

Enjoy!

Finally, right? :giggle: It looks like the deer show is over with at the moment. It appears they all moved well before daylight, perhaps to be back in a little bit, who knows, but it is chilly out.

Anyhow, I just received the following trail photograph from the other farm, and the camera was triggered by it I do believe, which I have no freaking idea what the heck it is. So, if anyone here by chance does, then please, kindly chime in and let me know, thanks! I'd appreciate it very much!

I'll get back on here later this afternoon. Y'all take it easy today - later!

Small creek log jam @home

Ready as I'll ever be for all the wet nasty weather.

Video description:

I wasn't planning on doing much of anything outdoors today, believing I'd be completely rained out all day. Well, that didn't happen, or until the end of the day anyway.

Once again, there was quite of bit of deer activity at the other farm overnight and this morning. You'll get to see most of the deer that showed up during those times within this short video.
_________________________

Every year I have to clear our creeks multiple times throughout the year of any fallen and/or washed up trees, debris and timber that causes our creeks to jam up, potentially causing a flood. I have to complete that work before the next heavy wet weather event, or I potentially risk having a significant flood all throughout the property. You'll also get to see the early beginnings of me clearing just one of the creek log jams within our smallest creek.

According to the weather forecast, we are supposed to receive approximately a 1/2" of steady moderate rain over the next 24hrs, and then the weather will shift up to different gear, producing much heavier rain by Thursday.

Things might get a little dicey around here come Friday afternoon, going into Saturday the 21st. It all depends on just how much rain we actually get that our current saturated property can no longer handle.

Fingers crossed!

3:00AM, Tuesday, January 17, 2023: 'THE SHOW MUST GO ON'

20230117_030455.jpg

Good mornin!

For whatever reason, since yesterday this has been happening, apparently I'm having some rather difficulty in getting HD quality images sent from some of my Tacatacam Reveals this mornin. So, I suppose we'll all have to settle for somethin of lesser quality unfortunately for now. This problem typically clears up on its own, but it's been like this since yesterday, so I'm not sure what the deal is at the moment.

Anyhow, since I'm up way early again, I'll go ahead and continue to share whatever deer that shows up in front of any of the three cell cams that I have.

Enjoy!
