No dice.

First 🦌 hunt in her life, 3.5hrs. Said she'd like to give it another go in the morning.

I believe most of the🦌 in our area are hitting the fleshly harvested cornfields next door because the feed-station deer activity has taken a real nose dive since the very beginning of them being pulled, since last Wednesday.
When I walked the cornfield yesterday across the road, I saw plenty of leftover corn all over the field. So much so, I went back to the field afterwards with my toboggan and filled the thing up with ears of corn. Then I dumped the toboggan at the feed-station afterwards.

Range table is still in place for hunt #2 for her, in the AM.

7:30AM, Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022: 'HOT APPLE PIE'

Good morning all!

20221011_070817.jpg

Okay, a minor change in today's hunting plans.

Russ's wife is sleeping in while Russ just headed out for another 'still hunt' this morning. I suggested an area where I always see deer funnel out into a field to feed this time of the day, just off the North ridge, and with this minor South wind we're currently having, it should be ideal if those deer do show up for him this mornin.

Last night, the wife overwhelmed us with her wonderful apple pie. Apples were provided from Russ that originally came from NY, and in typical fashion, her pie blew everyone away. Russ stated that it was the best apple pie that he's ever had in his life.

My wife is an old-school baker, and the entire pie was made from scratch. She always uses non-gmo ingredients, such as the imported flour from overseas. all contained within 5 gallon resealable plastic buckets, which can be stored long-term if need be.

Perhaps the best photograph taken of the day from yesterday. Russ's 'Lollipop' sleeping inside her dog bed near the campfire.

Last snapshot of the day as I was headed to bed.

'SHYBUC' this morning at the feed-station. He continues to show up quite regularly still.

Alright, got some idle time at the moment, so I'll go ahead post up some of today's photographs just to keep me current of what's happening, plus, I just received the very latest text message from Russ.

I installed a 125V/30AMP dedicated electrical circuit w/ disconnect, heavy duty S/O cord, l5-30R plug that's fused @30AMPs, everything was in my inventory, so, this circuit is for any future visits where anyone can run everything they need off of our utility power, should they arrive in most any kind of an RV. S/O cord w/ plug hangs just inside the barn door, then shut off the disconnect until the next the time.

Russ will be able to repack all of his electrical cords and not use them now that I have this new circuit completed.

Next update may come later. I'm playing everything by ear at this point.

Hope you y'all are out enjoying this beautiful weather were being blessed with lately.

Looked like something fell out of that helicopter??

Nah, probably somethin on my camera lenses when I took the pix. They're lookin for all the illegal grows in the area. Happens annually around here, roughly 4-6 different times throughout the harvest season.

The electrical inlet to Russ's RV, which I assume, most RVs are the same, but if not, I'm sure I can work somethin up should it be different than what you see below.

Probably a bald eagle got run through the rotors….. 😳

We've got plenty of the big birds of prey around here let me tell ya. Bald eagles included, ospreys too, not to mention all the different hawks, owls, turkeys, vultures, pileated woodpeckers, crows, geese, ducks, and many different upland birds as well. Honestly, it's like a wildlife refuge here, but it's not, it's all wild!

Thanks guys! He's on ☁️ 9, and I'm lovin it!

The debrief is happen now of the nearly full week of his deer hunting adventure here in the 'Buckeye State'. Good stuff! Said he started his write up yesterday, so it's coming. When? Give him another couple of days, and that's when I expect the whirlwind to settle down some.
