So more than one blood trail from this guy? Or am I misunderstanding?
I do believe this guy flat out lied. He just wanted to check the area "he thought" the deer went. There was no blood to be seen after I got there today. And he said they followed a good blood trail a long ways last night.... but Maxx was not impressed even being there.
Bottom Line: I'm pretty much done with this guy. He A Facebook Archer...

Maxx Dawg got to chew tail tonight. Hunter shot it and called us after it ran off. Ten minutes from my house and deer didn't go 100. Still a good one for the moral.

Took a track near Zanesville today. Maxx lined out pretty good. We were on very little blood, then deer did a hair-pin turn at a creek... 20 yds later was hair and blood amount picked up. Maxx went up a Very Steep Hill (30 yds).... and we found a gut pile at the top. 😵💫
Shot on private, killed on public ground.

No tail to chew on, but at least heart was still there....
Goooboy Maxx!

20ish years ago on the Egypt Valley Wildlife Area we were doing a drive near the end of shooting light in a hard driving snow.

The location is right next to 800, close enough you can hear the i70 traffic. My buddy shot at a nice 8 pt, and we had good blood at the site of the shot. We heard a truck on the road (800) drive up, slow down and then head back the way it came. We tracked the deer to the road, found a puddle of blood with tire tracks next to it and then nothing but tire tracks.... no more blood or deer tracks.

Took a track in Greenfield that sounded possibly promising. 12 ga to the "front area" (determined leg later on) and blood was everywhere! "Deer was also running into trees and falling down frequent" "Even fell on a log and laid there for like 5 minutes" "All kinds of blood on that log".
I will say there was tons of blood... but leg hits do that. THEN it came out that the younger guy (20) chased the deer on foot for about 150 yds with a gun in his hands. Also came out that the bloody log was totally missing from this equation after I got there...
Hunter was on his phone the whole time and the 20 year old didn't have a clue about much. Maxx wanted to go across the road and into Paint Creek. Hunter looked up from his phone long enough to assure me deer did not go over there...
We headed to the truck.
You can't make this shit up...

Todays phone call: Son shot a deer. Liver hit/blood is dark. Tracked it 400 yds to a bed. Lost blood at the bed.

Sent him this pic... He said it was hit in front of red dot. And ran off with a bad limp.
Had to tell him "shoulder shots are rarely recovered" Usually dead in 200 or still alive. Not driving 2 hrs each way for near zero chance.
Did I mention stay away from the shoulder? 🦌

Last Saturday I was stood up on a dog track by a "friend". It was for a 6 pt his Grandpa shot w/bow "down the side". (But still Gramps deer!) Never did get tracked that I know of. Same guy asked about doing a doe track last night at 7. I got ready to do it at 9. Hunter moved it until 10 without asking. Got him to wait until morning... (I have also turned down 2 other tracks/money to help him out)
This morning (after I'm already up) he pushes track until "later on". Then sends me these pics...

I politely told him Maxx and I are worth much more than to be treated like this. And there will be no other arrangements made for him ever.
His reply: But I still have a doe that needs tracked!
My reply: Good Luck.

Can you blame me?
