The sad part is that the media, and more so the networks televising the trial, still won. George didn't win, his life has been ruined. The Martin family not only lost a son, which changes their lives forever, but they were used in this circus all just to drive television ratings. The media found a story that they knew would grab people's attention by using "race" as the bait to go fishing. It works every singe time. George is half white half hispanic, and from what little I know he identifies himself as a hispanic. Yet the media tried to make this a black vs white thing. That couldn't be farther from the truth, but still the walking zombie sheeple out there took the bait... hook, line, and sinker.
Think about it from a television business perspective. What's the cost to produce a television series that would grab the national attention like this? What's the cost for the actors, the marketing, the filming, the directing, the editing, etc...? Now, what's the cost to take a real-life situation, exploit it, twist it, manipulate it to fit into race box, and put it on tv? They're making billions & billions off of the Zimmerman & Martin families situation. A situation that clearly did not even have enough evidence to deserve going this far. All the money spent is on the tax payer. The infrastructure for the trial coverage was already in place for the networks, all they had to do was shift their talking heading & cameras in that direction.
