Pretty slow for me again. Had 1 doe work through a creek bottom last night. Sign seems to be picking up. Found this rub 50 yards in front of my one setup.

Just seen something really cool. After I left the property I was hunting I had to check a few coyote snares. As I'm pulling down the edge of the field in my truck, an owl lifts off a branch above me and almost dropped this rabbit square on the hood! If he would have been slower or me faster, it would have hit the truck. Pretty damn cool!

It's raining rabbit parts lol.

I ran out this morning and changed batteries in the #2 cam. They was still at 50% but I feel better knowing they have new bats in there now :D. I also took the #1 cam back out and I picked out the biggest scrape on the field edge and hung it lol. They have 8 scrapes along this field edge that is only about 150-200 yards long so I found the biggest, deepest, most tore up scrape and hung a cam. In total I counted 11 scrapes on the field edges late this morning and I only walked 4 of the 10 field edges. Trying to find Cap't a good spot to spend a couple hours in this week. I will go back on Wednesday and probably hang another stand for him to hunt out of and then I will hunt out of after he heads back to school.

Now that is crazy!
You got some nice rubs there.

I was out with Kody til about 6:15, then the rain started so we packed it in. Had a flock of 16 hens go by... That was it.

Mike I've watched a red fox chase a squirrel down, seen a hawk take a chipmunk twenty yards in front of my stand and some others. But I have never seen a half eaten rabbit fall from the sky in front of my truck till yesterday, it was cool!

Had a young buck come in at dark as I was taking down my sticks last night. Outside of that i've been skunked in my last few outings. Been seeing a few more deer each day on my way to work, just doesn't seem to be heating up too much yet in my neck of the woods. The hunting pressure seems to be slowing down a bit compared to what it was at the beginning of the season, so that is a good thing.

Taking the lonewolf sticks/stand into a spot that I haven't hunted this year tonight, in hopes of changing my luck!

I was going to head out this evening but It was a little on the windy side. I have Cap't coming up in the morning to get his permission slip signed and sit for a couple hours. Going to take him on a quick cam trip and show him a few things around the property. HOLD on Cap't !!! It's going to be a fun ride lol.

I'm about to flip the switch fellas. I made the committment to stay outta the woods as much as I could during the "October lull" and I've held true. In the past, I've not only burnt out good stands, but also myself by this point in the season. I'll be off the next three Fridays and have a week's vacation to use at some point. I'm hoping this new approach will prove it's worth!!!

It'll definitely pay off, man. I like to get out there and hunt like everyone else, but I really don't get excited until the last week of October. The buck movement should really start picking up here soon.

I'm going to hit up a good observation stand where Greg has had lots of success seeing early scrape activity. Easy in, easy out and I can cover a ton of ground. Got some acorns for shits and giggles. Who knows, I might shoot a squirrel!!!
