Had two small bucks and four does in the field tonight. None of the does presented a shot. The one buck came right underneatj me but just wasn't quite old enough.

I have pics of him for 2 years now and all he has had is 6 good tines on the left side and just the main beam sticking straigt up on the left side.

If he was one more year older I would probably take him just because after two years I doubt he will ever get anything on that left side.

One positive is the does have been hitting the same oak tree the past couple evenings... so as soon as the wind gets half way decent the lonewolf and sticks are going to work. Hope to have a doe for the freezer down soon. ,

Congrats to Ohiobowhunter1!!!!! Can't wait to see the pics!

I have hunted two Sunday evening now. Two does. One buck on both Sundays. Two turkeys. A possum, a black squirrel, gray and fox squirrel last night, and a groundhog. Pretty eventful in the woods. Almost forgot to mention the owls going back and forth. Loud as heck and the one swooped in to the next tree over before turning and taking off again. That will scare the tar out of ya!

Greg and I went out to film a doe hunt last night. We let two yearling does walk hoping to see momma and never did. Pretty cool night though. We had the one two steps from the tree. I like the feel of that stand. Can't wait to head back in late October...

Ok fellas... decided to bring the lonewolf stand/stick setup into a spot I haven't touched yet this year. Hunting a corn/soybean split. Sitting about 25 yards inside the woods. On my way in I see this right in front of the trail im hunting on....

Didn't notice any huge tracks so this could very well be a young buck... but lots of sign so im hopeful for some action tonight.

Hoping to make it out in the morning. Need to be out early and planning on hunting a spot where the deer meander back into their bedding areas from feeding all night. Hoping with no moon, I can sneak in without being noticed and catch one getting to bed late. Need to be rolling out of there by 9am though for my son's soccer game. Not sure it is a good idea to even hunt it on a short window of opportunity, but you can't kill them from the bed and my daughter has a birthday party on Sunday. Can't miss your kid's b-day!

I was going to skip hunting this weekend with the heat but late this morning I went out to grab my climber out of the woods and heard the combine picking corn on the north field. I went back past there this evening and they still had a strip that is about 100 yards wide and 300 yards long. I am going to try and setup so when they come back in the morning to finish up the field that they will push the deer my way into the woods :D. I'm not going to be shooting any does but if one of the big boys comes out and I get a chance at him I will. I just hate the heat and trying to get the deer meat iced and packaged but worth the effort for a biggin :D.

Well what do you know? To bed at 1220. Up at 345 with the coffee brewing. Checked my work emails, and logging in to TOO and the weather web sites. Verify wind directions, eat some breakfast, feed the dogs, shower up, smoke up, take a 1/2 mile hike, climb a tree, and hope to kill a big boy! Yeehaw!

Good luck this morning guys! Hope to get out this afternoon. Both my wife and I were traveling this week so I had to fly my mother in to watch our son. She leaves this afternoon so I hope to get out after droping her at the airport.

Took the wife out again this morning to the blind. Had a pretty good morning as far as activity. Ended up seeing a total of 7 deer. Where this blind is setup there is not much warning when the deer show up, so when things happen they happen fast. About 8 o'clock she saw a doe coming in and got ready for a shot had the digital camera in video mode. So here is the video, the doe was about 15 yrds when she shot. Not bad getting to draw on a deer her second time out.

Sorry I didn't clarify RC. No she did not get it. At least it was a clean miss and she didn't injure the deer. I think it was some first time jitters. One thing is for sure, she is bit by the bow hunting bug and bit hard. I am going to have a hard time getting hunting time in for myself now.

All in all that is no real big deal. It doesn't matter to me if I am in the woods doing the hunting or in the woods watching the hunting both are just as fun for me.
