Glad your season is turning up for you, Mike!

My boys are horrible. I have three, maybe four that look like they have thrown a rock. One of my best players is legally blind...but he works harder than any of the other boys and it shows! I have two boys that are really good, the blind boy, and Mason are also fair. How the heck do kids get to 7 or 8 years old without basic hand-eye coordination? Good grief. I can only hope the other teams are as horrible. On the bright side, most of the boys will still have a great time as they really seem to enjoy picking grass in the outfield!:)

Watch it bro, I'm 22 and still clumsy as fugg! My baseball career ended after 1 year of coach pitch and an intramural camp. I didn't get on base all week, though after popping a ball on the last day, the first baseman thought it would be wise to charge me down the line. I flattened the kid, thought I should still get to be on first base, the kid was sputtering with the wind knocked out of him...and the next week was intramural football...never looked back

I remember kids like you, Huck. One kid wasn't right. He'd steal your hat and you couldn't get it back! Big tard couldn't feel pain and loved to fight. You couldn't pry your hat back out of his fat fingers for anything....had to go buy him a popsickle or something to distract him. Fug, new kids were dumb enough to slap-box ol Lorren-Dale once in a while. He'd leave 'em laying in a pool of blood and piss, just stand over 'em gigglin'....then steal their damn hat.

Some of the other kids that couldn't play baseball grew up to lead productive lives...they are gay, but productive in their own way. :)

We open our Coach pitch season tonite against what is supposed to be the best team in our league. Brock I think we have similar teams with the exception of the blind boy. Our biggest kid stood on 2nd base with his glove on his head and kept repeating "I hate baseball". The good thing about season starting now is that we won't have anymore practices since we have 2 and 3 games a week for the rest of the Month. Jesse has been a big help to me and man do I appreciate it alot

Rough first outing tonight for the pitching staff! I got some practice to do if I'm going to pitch any more this year! I think I'm better suited at first!!!

Good grief, what is wrong with these kids? I'd give up my left....pinky finger to be able to play again, or at least run... The best hitter we have on our team (and he really is good) was in our shop tonight. He told his mom as he pointed his bony little finger at me, that he tries to line one right up the middle and into my forehead every at bat. I laughed and told him to keep up the good work. He is good enough that when he starts thinking about the fence, he can't touch the ball...most of the other boys don't know there is a fence!

Jesse, did any of them go over the backstop?

Wow, were off to a little bit of a rough start but at least there is only one way to go and that is up. I find it frustrating that the parents are yelling at the boys when they have the ball and their trying to decide what to do and the boys just lock up. Im yelling too but I dont think Im near as loud as some of the Moms LOL. Im definitely not coach material but Im pretty sure Ive surrounded myself with one that is and he is definitely finding that he has more patients then he assumed he would have. We play again Thursday evening and Im hoping it goes a little better and the parents arn't as loud.

We only had 3K's, that was better then last nite and we didnt strike out 2 of our best hitters!!!!!!
I was gonna have Shawn get you a shirt the same size as mine but I figured we would beating the Moms (my wife included) off you and we wouldn't get any games in!!!!
I do appreciate all your help TOO man

Took the family to the Buccos game tonight. AJ Burnett had 10 k's. Joel Haranahan blew the save but Rod Barajas drove in Alex Presley with a walk off homer.
Klay and Katie each got baseballs from the bullpen pitchers after they warmed up the outfielders. Kendra enjoyed a Primanti Brothers sandwich. Nothing beats PNC Park. And, I got front row seats in LC field by the bullpen for $6 each off stub hub!

Hey, Mike! Since you're a coach at the H.S. level, what are your thoughts on "the hands are part of the bat"? I had this situation come up during a M.S. game while I was working the plate Saturday.

Are you talking about teaching the swing or when a ball hits the hands?

Good point, I left that detail out! When the ball hits the batter's hands while the batter is making no attempt to strike at the ball.
