Thanks everyone.

Damn!!! do you tune your bow yourself? I have mine pretty good but some of you guys know any and everything about it, which I don't, wish I did

I do most of my tuning myself. I want to make a draw board like Milo's or Jim's once I get out of the Dorms/ Barracks. I also told Jessie that she needs to by me a bow press as a wedding present. Right now I use the a local bow shops press to tune my own bows. Washington State bowtechs must not have enough Appalachian blood in their veins because one couldn't tell me the differance between a contol and a buss cable. No way are these moron touching one of my bows.

Dang Tom, that's a good grouping especially when I always heard crew chiefs could see the forest through the trees rotflmao :smiley_coolpeace:

I dont know what the fug that means Jay. I did rip the vane off some Jet troops arrow at the 20 yard target because he was trying to drag me into a Hoyt vs Mathews arguement. That shut him up.

Well I have yet to post in this thread because I haven't shot all summer long due to my bow needing some TLC. After getting that at SCORE this past weekend I have been flinging some arrows.

This was my best group tonight from 20 yds

There is a total of seven arrows in that group. Now to get my 30 & 40 dialed in like this

Nice shooting Steve and Mike! Looks like the deer in your neighborhoods are in trouble this year!

2nd group of three shots tonight at 20 yards. This is why I'm down to 3 practice arrows. My dumb @$$ won't pick different spots to shoot at! Haha! Can't get a robin hood that way! Still have yet to get one. I'm better at shooting knocks and fletchings off. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1347309245.737670.jpg

I had a heck of a time finding a school of crappie this afternoon, so I decided I'd better dust off my bow incase the fishing slows down. :)
This is a 30 yd group, but it wasn't the first round of shooting. A lil rusty I guess. Anyway, I should probably get the glue out or go to Skeeter Creek for some bullets that all have three feathers on 'em. :)

This was 25 yards with the new vector turbo. Starting to feel real comfortable with the bow. Still have a ways to go because 30 yds is seeming long. Gonna keep shooting hard until i start groupin them at 50, that makes 30 a piece of cake! Got some work to do!

I was starting to get pissed tonight. I had to build new arrows because the Bohning X-Vanes and Slick Tricks don't jive with one another. So I had to reset my pins tonight and I was shooting like shit. I took a beer break and came back with a renewed focus. This is my last group at 40. I can live with that...

Broadhead flight issues solved. Top arrow is a Montec CS. Their flight looks better, but they hit just a touch high. The ringer is a Slick Trick Mag. They come out of the gate a little wonky for my liking, but the Blazers bitch slap them in to shape before impact. Both arrows are from 40 yards. The best thing is my arrows only arc 3-4" over the back of my target from that range. Not TOO shabby for a bow that wasn't built for speed...

Looks like you'll be killing deer this season, Jesse! If a person wants to shoot fixed heads, I really think they are better off shooting a 4'' vane. I know Blazers are supposed to do the job, I just don't think they do it as well. Little bitty fixed heads like ST help, but I still believe the more you steer with the back of the arrow, the straighter. Check for yourself if you arent happy with your set up. Only takes one arrow to prove it.:)

I learned a $25 lesson yesterday after launching an arrow in to the brush at work from 40 yards. Thankfully, my bow has been Skeeterized and I knew it wasn't a mechanical issue. Gave it the once over to verify, and talked to Milo. He suggested I fletch up some with Blazers and see what happened before we got drastic. I did that tonight, made about a 1/16" downward adjustment to my rest based on the first two arrows, and then all was good with the world again. Shot two more from 50 for shits and giggles...

It was a valuable lesson learned about steering from the back of the boat. I firmly believe a 4" vane would do just fine!
