Jealous of the bling boys!!! Hope to get back out some this week. This morning only produced 3 birds due to SHITTY shooting on my part! Don't know what my problem was LOL!

If it is woodies the problem isn't you. They are fast/erratic boogers when coming in. Our bounty yesterday would have been much better if they weren't so darn fast and unpredictable.

Its all these damn TEAL! Fuggers are like rocket ships and you gotta be ready at all times. I don't know how many shots my bicep took due to trying to get it off in time and not shoulder correctly! Still fun!

Fished Berlin lake up here yesterday and it sounded like deer gun season too the second power..... Holy cow they were throwing the shot at them.... We fished a point and there were guys in a johnboat duck blind couple hundred yards across the lake and they had too at least throw 30-40 rounds at geese and not one hit the water..... Pure entertainment for us when we weren't catching fish lol..... First hour of the tourney was quite entertaining lol
Killed 2 mallards and 4 woodies this morning tween 2 of us . Alot of pressure and skybusting here right now .

Some nice birds guys. I hunted waterfowl only for 27 years. Sure do miss those mornings on the Killbuck marshes.

I went duck and goose hunting today for the first time ever. Shot a goose but nothing seemed to be moving too much. Had a great time! I can see how it could be addicting...
Hey, Jesse. If you get time, please put together a map or something showing how you ended up setting up on opening day. You guys had a great hunt, so you must have did something right with the decoys! I think it'd be nice to piece the two posts together... one asking how to approach it and looking for suggestions, and the other showing exactly what you did and why it worked. Also, in hindsight, would you have changed anything?
Show how I missed this Jimbo. Great post and I appreciate it. I'll put up something in the next few days. I would make some changes and I did that tonight. I'm 100% convinced when it gets cold in late season and the upper end freezes, I'll have one of the hottest duck spots in SE Ohio. I missed with all 3 shots tonight after jumping 3 woodies, 6 mallards and 12 geese when we pull the boat back tonight. There were birds all over and I was just excited! I never aimed at a damn thing!!!
We went with a new spread today and upped our numbers. Next weekend, I'll try one more set up, then I'll be ready for late season. Decoying here will be about choking off the upper end of things. I tried that tonight, but I made 2 "ponds" as a result. I need more decoys or some geese to land up there and force the ducks to us. We set dekes up tonight giving birds time to come and back some did. It's just 2 of us tomorrow unless someone from here wants to drive to Marietta by 6AM tomorrow!
I'll take some pics and we set up the camera arm to film tomorrow. If we kill 4, I'll consider it a good day.
Curran, I employed 9 of the 11 full bodies tonight. There were 75 geese in our field across the way. We need some shells now, but those full bodies are sweet! You hooked a brother up! Even got blood on one last week to break it in!

I'd make the drive down but it'd be tough to make it back up here by 9:00 to coach my little girl's team. Last soccer games of the season... finally. Then it's Daddy time chasing bucks & ducks around central OH for the next few months... or until basketball starts. :smiley_depressive:

Got a limit of sky carp this evening,,pretty happy with that being only Oct. and our good hunts aren't usually till late Dec./Jan.
