So much for the all dayer. i planned to take the climber in and sit by the pond where I did a couple weeks ago. got in there to find the place flooded. Decided to sit in a hang on in the cove since i was already running behind and didnt have time to get to another spot for the climber.

After a few hours of seeing absolutely nothing, i realized a few things. 1. The poop I took this morning wasnt enough, I had to go again. 2. i was underdressed, I really wanted to get some thicker socks and another fleece on. 3. I was hungry.

A little after 10:00 i decided to come down, stash my climber, bow and pack in the brush. go home and get retooled to come back out in an hour or so. Grab the climber and go back into the woods for an afternoon evening sit.

As i was walking out, i caught a flash to my left in the field. It was a truck, Yep adam, same silver toyota from last week. he pulled all the way back through the field to the pond, right where i was planning on sitting. Two guys got out, let a dog loose, grabbed their guns and set about rabbit hunting. Funny , I thought you were supposed to wear orange while rabbit hunting.

I thought maybe they will bump something, but realized if they do, its gonna run west right onto the other property I dont have permission for.

So much for leaving my stuff behind, I grabbed that. I am now back at the house, Not sure i even want to go back out. Pulled my stands from the other property a few days ago because of other hunters fugging it up, Now i am thinking i should hang it up till gun season.

Congrats Steve!

Quiet morning up here. Steady rain until 8:15ish. Got up n pulled cards around 10.... My target buck was under my stand 15mins before I got there, 20mins before shooting time. He'll slip up in the next few weeks, hope I have stand time when he does. Our youngest son's baptism is next Sunday morning......couldn't convince the wife to move it a week or so...sorry EyeSpy lol!

I didn't stay out much longer. I started thinking about food & I wanna watch State play. TOOnight is trick or treat & my wife is leaving to get her hair done at 4pm, so I think I'm screwed. Those kids really won't miss that candy will they ?? lol

if its anything like around here, Most of them are far from kids anyway, and should have outgrown trick or treating about 8 or 9 years ago.
Them little ones dont need all that sugar anyway.

Snacked on a granola bar. Crinkled wrapper about the time I have a doe downwind at 20yds. Must not have heard it. Kept meandering thru. Had perfect shot at 10yds. Texted my buddy and said I don't think I can pass her twice. He had been adamant about no does til after rut but replies back Why didn't u shoot her? Argh! She is gone now. Tried some bleats but no luck. Oh well.

Hahahaha I remember that sucked with two of us so I imagine you got your workout in this morning!

Wasn't to bad actually. About 50 yds drag to the path, and now that I have a jeep I drove right down to her. I would still be dragging her out instead of drinking a beer if wasn't for good old 4 wheel drive.

Great job Steve! Awesome pic with your bow!

Great pic of young buck Jake!

Karissa and I had a nice hunt together. We saw one doe and two small ones ran around in big circles in the creek bottom below us for awhile. Also saw a flock of 9-12 turkeys which were mostly hens from what I could tell. Here's a pic of Karissa ready to kill a shooter.lol

Watching the Buckeyes score 28 on Purdue in the first quarter. We'll be heading back to the creek stand 250 yards from where were this morning. Hope to catch a buck checking some scrapes in the bottom this evening.

I am in for now. Hope to slide back out later but with Trick or Treat and such going on today it might be tough. Been home a short while. Buckeyes have scored 2 touchdowns in that short time. I think if I miss the end of the game for an evening hunt I won't be missing much in the game. lol

Didn't see these in the dark on the way in, but saw them on the way out. Hard to miss them. Decent sized trees with impressive rubs. Did not see any scrapes where I normally do on this property though. A bit weird. Minimal deer movement overall this morning though.

Got another "doe".

Saw one small buck about 50 yards away. My buddy hunting about 200 yard away missed a big buck, shot right over his back. And this little guy came within 7 yards. Took my girlfriend Hutu g with me for the first time and we scored!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383415556.391372.jpg

Like the same day when we almost got a certain van stuck?! Lol. Nice work brother. That stand certainly is a producer.
