What a long cold day. Saw 2 does at sunset. That was all that I saw from noon to 6. Oh and a black cat. I just can not seem to find the right place at the right time this year. Still at it though!

Nothing until lsst half hour of light. They where pooring into the field from every direction. If bet my shooter was there somewhere. I was counting on movement as soon ss my ass hit the stand. Just didnt happen. The deer where acting like it was dead of winter

On a side note: ivess reminded my zeiss binocs are killer. I couldnt believe the detail i was seeing at dark. Crazy..

Love it fellas. Was on the road around 5pm. Saw lots of deer in urban areas and around neighborhoods. Picked up my son. Drove to my house and past one of my main properties. Not a deer to be seen. I have to get some urban areas or something.

I like the sound of that, J!

Yep it definitely was Brock.....

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1384907071.645191.jpgthis was in front of me for a little over an hour....had a doe coming too cross the creek and he had other plans for her, basically corralled her back into the thicket she came out of and then bedded outside of it for over an hour facing me.... He was grunting like a mad man.... Right before dark they got up and she headed too the creek crossed it and him behind her but not enough light too get a shot off.... I was debating it all along but not giving me the shot opportunity it made it easy for me lol..... Pulled camera cards on the way out and he showed up a few times along with another nice one.....

Have no history and too me he looks like a 2.5 year old maybe a three.... I'll defer too the more experienced folks on that lol.... Great night and had a good hunt tonight....

That's a great hunt, J! Sounds like you were as close to the right spot as is possible to be... hang with it. You'll likely get a chance at him soon. He won't stray far from his girlfriend and I'd guess you are in her house. Good luck buddy.

Still up in the air if I'm going too give him a pass or not.... He looks kinda young but not sure.... I've never been much of a trophy hunter a just a few years ago I'd of been doing flips just too see one of this caliber now I'm debating shooting it......

Any opinions on age????

J, I wouldn't think twice about shooting that buck. I bet you wont either when he's broadside 20 yards:smiley_coolpeace:

Back at it again tomorrow, then it will probably just be weekends from here on out. I had a lot of comp time racked up from working my butt off all year, but I pretty much will have exhaulsted most of it after this week. I will probably take a day off for gun season but that is about it. I plan on hunting a pinch point in a wood lot in the morning, with cut corn on one side and winter wheat on the other. This is the first time the farmer has planted winter wheat, I am hoping the deer will be in it thick this winter. It's only a couple inches tall right now. After I freeze out or noon (whichever comes first) I plan on moving to a wooded creek travel cooridor about a mile as a crow flies. I know there are big bucks using both of these areas. I probably wont touch base till tomorrow evening. Anyone else hunting tomorrow text me if you want 937 728 4026. It sure makes those long cold deerless sits a lot more bareable when you know someone else is going through it too!! Good luck fellers.

Old enough... :)

You're killing me hahaha.... I'm adopting the WWBD on stand from now on!!!!! hahaha!!!!

Mike and Seth I'm trying too get some trophies around here and you're not helping hahaha!!!!!

So far not having him close enough has helped but like stated if he broadside at 30 or less he may be in trouble lol....
