Headed out this afternoon for my first hunt back home since returning from Ohio. From what I hear all our little NH bucks are on their feet chasing tail. It's rifle season so I'll be packing my sons 243 along with my bow. However it's bucks only with a rifle. I still have no meat in the freezer so any buck gets a bullet and any doe gets an arrow.

Had a 1.5 year old 4 point hang around the stand not knowin if he wanted too cross the creek or head too the opposite side of he farm for the other bedding area..... Apparently he was cold enough and didn't want too get wet lol.....

Spent about a half hour classing the area that the two crossed last night and formulated a plan.... Scarey I know lol.... Got down walked too the crossing and got a good feel for it and mad e a ground blind about 20 yards away with two good shooting lanes in either direction.... Won't be able too see them too well but will be able too hear them. Tossing the creek and can catch them in the wide open..... Here's hoping it works.... Hitting the shower smoking everything up and heading back out.... Going old school this afternoon hahaha.... Haven't killed a deer from the ground with a bow in about 5 years..... I think it's about time....

Awesome J!!! On the ground....just be ready and hopefully you see them well in advanced so you're already aiming before they reach your shooting lane! Good luck buddy!

Sounds like a good plan, J. Be sure to take a camera to get pics of them under your stand! :)

You mean the one 58 yards from my ground blind hahaha.... That would be fitting now wouldn't it hahaha.....

If I'd of taken a chainsaw too the area that'd taken care of the problem lol....

Nice size doe jumped into the creek and walked it the whole way out of sight.... She's not playing by the rules lol.... Nothing following her..... So far lol.....

Wind is in my favor so hopefully they'll move past just before dark..... Forgot how much of a rush it is too have them at eye level lol

Big bodied buck came in right when I was preparing to get down. Couldn't see which one it was and couldn't see well enough too shoot. Stopped right in my 28 yard lane broadside. 5 minutes too late...
