The bows are ready to be assembled any time and will be landing at the dealers very soon. Many people are excited for the new bows to land. Me, I can't wait. They look bad-ass.

Isnt K & K..the strothers family?

Yes. It is Kevin and Kate Strothers. K&K was/is supposed to be a direct sales based bow company. I say "supposed to be" because they announced plans to include up to 10 distributors for these new bows. Kevin Strothers no doubt designs some great bows going back to his Bowtech days. But you talk about a dude that jumps ship and has his hands in more cookie jars than anyone in the bow manufacturing industry! I have no doubt these bows are worth the coin, but I'm not sure how I feel about buying a bow direct from a guy that has a new company every time I turn around. How is that limited lifetime warranty going to work when he moves on to his next 5 bow companies?

I didn't know he jumped around like that. What happened to just "Strothers" why is it K&K now?

Kevin has went on record, and posted the proof, that Strothers has failed to pay a bunch of people (attorneys, distributors, others) and provided the proof on Archery Addix forum. He left that company and owns all the patents. He is now building his own bows for his own company. First time for this.

The guy that owns Strothers is trying to maintain the company but I wonder how long they will last.

I have zero doubt that the K&K bows will be the best you can buy.

Good looking bows! Like milo, I too wish they'd get away from cable slides. I don't understand why they spend so much on R&D to trick these things out with new technology, only to resort to ancient shit for the cables. ???

This isn't just old tech on the cable slides. He is using some new idea with a bent rod or something. I'm not technical enough to explain.

I'm almost positive that some of their bows are Kevin's patents. I'm trying to think of where I came across that, but it might have been talking to one of the Elite guys at an expo. Does that sound right?

G5 makes Elite's risers, Elite was designed by Kevin, G5's have the Elite risers but different limbs and cams...

What's so special about them?

I dunno. These guys are the archery pros around here. I just know mine feels good in my hands and I am 2/2 with it. This is all I need to know. I am not looking at anything else to spend my money on. I am sticking with what works. Personally, the above bow looks about like all the rest of them. Sort of like Harleys, after awhile they all start looking the same other than a few details here and there.

I have designed and licensed compound bow designs to numerous companies for 27 years.

I Co founded Bowtech in 1999, sold my part out in 2005, left in Nov 2005.

Designed bows for Elite under a consultant agreement from 2006-2009.

Allowed my name to be used(HUGE mistake) for Strother Archery, and after signing a 2 year extension of my design contract in June 2010, SA breached the contract in Oct 2010 we parted ways!!!

My wife Kate and I are making a limited production of 1500 total bows with 2 models for 2011.

When my design contracts expire I don't just keep designing for free. I have never been an employee of a archery company except after I sold out my part of Bowtech and that was only for a few months.

That is the real story.
