I would love for him to be.. any tips on training

For starters, start gathering and freezing deer blood. Tough this time of the year. I think there are a few threads on it. ArcherTL could train his dogs to track a rain drop I think. Impressive dogs. Buckmaster has a dog for tracking and I was thinking he had a thread on it but could be wrong.

Took Lola to the pond yesterday and found a maggot infested bass and she rubbed her head and back on it. Yuck.
She really wanted one of those ducks.

Haha. They always seem to find some nasty shit to roll around in. They are always pretty proud of it too.

I always figures they were hiding their scent.... Cow pies are the worst.... But a buddies beagle found a fresh pile of crap from a good dinner from the night before and rolled all thru it.... Yeah, he got thrown into a creek.... Numerous times... Stupid freakin hounds.... SMDH....

Lacey tried to do the scent roll in a red ant hill once that was the funniest dumbest thing I've seen her do. She also dug a 3 foot deep hole to bay a mole. I just had to sit back and watch that one. Lacey is pretty smart and very cleaver, but she is a huge moron.

I sent you a pm nathan.luthman.

It took longer than I wanted but my lab Betty finally earned her UKC Hunting Retriever ("HR") title this past weekend. We were really close to achieving it last summer but we had a few hiccups that kept it just out of reach. It's no HRCH or Master title but I'm really happy with her. I've made some mistakes as a handler and trainer along the way that I hope to correct with my next dog. The plan is to have Betty bred next spring or summer and keep one of the female pups. That's the plan anyway... we know how that goes sometimes... like Mike Tyson said, "Everyone has a plan, until you get punched in the face." Lol

Congratulations on that accomplishment Jim - you may downplay it, but I find it amazing that people can have the self discipline to train a dog successfully.
I admire that skill/talent.
