My beans really took off this week, so I'm hopeful for a good harvest this year since we lost all of them last year to deer.

Followed Jamie's lead and put the straw to it. Need some more. This side of the garden is really taking off and my tomatoes look great. Not impressed with my peppers. Give and take I suppose...

Peppers are late "bloomers". They are usually the last thing to take off for me, then I am buried in peppers by late summer.

Zucchini and cucumbers have really taken off this week. My tomatoes are behind but I was behind on everything compared to years past. If I stay at it like I have been then I should have a pretty good harvest this year.

Found a couple of Carolina Reaper plants today... So if any of you ever wanted to try one, let me know! I don't have any plans for them. Was basically an impulse buy...50% off sale.

It measures well over 1.5 million on the Scoville Scale — for reference, Tobasco tops out at 1,200 Scoville units — and its heat causes numbing of the hands and a rush of endorphins.

First garden harvest of 2016. Time to replant the Radish.

I was in fear of what I would find when I went to the garden today. I left the water on last Tuesday and flooded it, then it poured for the next two days and really doused it. It doesn't look like I'll get any corn, but I didn't last year either. Just doesn't seem to be a good spot for it to grow. The rest of the garden looks great. Even after a week off no attention from me due to being so busy, I was able to bring it back around in 2 hours time. Looks good and I'm not far out from needing to can.

I laid the straw to the beans today to cut down on the weeding. They are really starting to take off.

Won't be long before I make some mustard! Tomatoes are really taking off as well.

Pickles, zuchs and squash plants are all doing great.

I had some help today!
