That really sucks, John. I've been running the KO2's on my F150 and have put about 40k miles on them. They are wearing like iron. So far best tire I've ever owned.

If choosing between Bridgestone and Cooper I would definitely choose the latter. I've had both brands... Coopers were great and the Bridgestones sucked.

I don't think the ko2 is a bad tire, as long as you put them on half tons or smaller. I just don't think they handle the bigger trucks or heavy towing as well. Phil is the exception to the rule with them. He seems to be the only one I know that has had good luck with them in that application.

What kinda mileage difference have you guys seen going from a 6ply to a 10ply?

Does that truck of yours have eco mode? Drops cylinders when it doesn't need them? Because it usually messes those computers up pretty good and you won't see it drop into eco anymore. The extra weight makes it think it's under load.

No eco mode hut it does have MDS. It still goes into 4 cylinder mode when I am towing light stuff.

I'm not the exception to the rule. I haven't had any separate at sidewall, but not each and every truck has gotten a ton of miles out of the BFGs. Our F350 is the main mowing truck. It doesn't get as many miles out of tires as my dually. Start, go, stop, slow speed turns and lots of backing up trailers simply is not conducive to maximum miles out of a tire. Even so, I'd say we have seen between 20-30k miles out of a set of tires.

I don't believe a tire out there will see 50k miles on that specific truck.

I would love to see what a set of Michelins would do on your truck the m/s or a/t

This new truck has the BFG's and I already HATE them! No traction in the rain, dry cracking, loud and just junk. So looking for an update here. I'll probably try and wait till spring as they have plenty of tread left for another year. Unless I find a smoking deal I can't pass up.

Dave, I ended up going with the cooper discoverer ATP from discount tire. I've only put around 5000 miles on them 2000 with the camper behind I'd guess. Can't say much on longevity with so little miles, but traction has been good along with the ride and low noise. In short I've been happy with them. The biggest problem I've found is they are a rock magnet and they hold them for a while.

Went with 315/70/17's (34.4x12.4x17) tire). We will see. Went -12mm offset and have plenty of room between UCA and sidewall. Probably could have went 0mm offset. May end up putting OEM flares painted to match.

Mine is a "C" rated tire and most of the noise made about BFG'S is in the 10 ply tire.

Just put a set of MasterCraft Courser AXT's on mine. Can't speak to longevity yet as I have only had them on for about 10 days. So far I like them. They are extremely quiet. Traction has been great so far. Putting the boat in and out never slipped a bit on the ramp. Gave right at $800 out the door so price was good as well. Supposed to be a 50k tire we will see.

I've put just over 38k miles on mine and they have been great. Quiet, even tread wear, and they still have a lot of life left in them. These are the "E" rated tires. I would buy another set in a heartbeat without even looking at other brands. I'm running 275/75/18's which are little more than an inch taller than stock. I think my next set will be 305's or 315's with a slight offset.

I had BFG A/Ts on my CJ when I first got it. Hated their performance in the mud. They would fill and turn into bologna skins. No traction. And they wouldn't clean no matter how fast they were spinning.

As some of you know. I had a tire let go on the way to The Mingo. I went in today to take care of it and see if it could be fixed at all. Tire somehow broke a belt from the inside out and put 4 holes in the sidewall/tread corner. #fuggBFG

They had a sale going on the Cooper's but didn't have any in stock. Tomorrow I will be rolling on a new set of AT3's. At $250 less then what I usually run, I'll give them my honest opinion in due time.
