Balls deep in remodeling our main bath in prep for the appraisal/sale this year. House was built in 1961, so all the walls look like hell since the original drywall job sucked and there's 50+ years of patch jobs. No pressure on me then since I'm not a drywall guy. I hate doing corners and tried the aluminum corner channel with pre-installed tape attached in our half bath and thought it was more cumbersome than it was worth. Figured this made as much sense as anything. Running a good bead of caulk is easy. Coat of primer and 2 coats of paint later, you'll never know. Even if you do, my ass will be long gone by then!

Being a bathroom, it’ll probably outlast any corner molding. I’d say you have no worries! Party on
First ever attempt at laying tile went pretty well today. It was a bit like building arrows. I was always intimidated by it until I did it once, then I realized it's really pretty simple once you get the hang of it. My dad bought a nice tile saw a few months back, so I dry fit everything at my place, marked my cuts, then went to his shop and made my cuts. Only need to adjust the last piece, the rest went as planned. Much needed upgrade to this bathroom.
Looks great Jesse! I'm a huge fan of tile flooring. Especially in bathrooms.

Those spacers are double sided, straight on one side and a + on the other. The + is to put in the corner junction of 4 tiles so you don't have to use 4 spacers. On larger areas the + helps to keep the grout lines straight from one tile to the next.
Looks awesome man. Like you found out tile isn't that hard once you walk through it, especially floors.

Worked my dick off today. Hand spread 1,250#s of crush and run, and another 1,250#s of 57s to fix the washout in the driveway and freshen up some areas around the perimeter of our parking area. Bought 2 flats of flowers and a tree, got those all planted after digging out the weeping cherry that was half dead. Spread 2 yards of mulch too. Got a handful of other smaller chores done too. Long ass day, but the curb appeal is much better.

Today was all about "The Chore List". Super productive day outside. Going to spend my day in the garage tomorrow to avoid the heat short of a couple odds and ends, I'm just about done outside. Curb appeal is pretty much done!

HA. I definitely lost some gravel and the hydrangea is apparently a favorite food for deer. Who knew? Fuggers.

Been working past few weekends on thisnolayhouse. That’s my daughters up there painting it.
Thankful we still have a small local general store today. They've been bailing guys like me out since 1857. The generic kitchen faucet we had was worn out, so getting it completely shut off was a pain in the ass. Just assumed I could salvage the supply lines, but nooo, gotta be built into the faucet. Same with the new one. I had 2 spares from a previous project and both were too short, of course. A 30 minute swap turned in to a 2 hour chore. Happy to mark this one off the list though!
Snapped a before pic tonight of what I see becoming the next dog kennel. I need to do a sketch to visualize my idea for my wife, but I plan to take advantage of this dead space by making it a functional kennel. It'll save the yard when it's sloppy out like it is now, plus it'll preserve baths and grooming a little longer!
The small deck comes off the laundry room, which is where Lulu stays. Once I add another dog, both will go in the garage, which is accessible through the laundry room as well. The small deck needs rebuilt as is, so I'll be tearing it out. My plan is to build two sets of steps off the new deck. One will turn left out of the door and drop down by the spicket. That opening will get a gate. The second set will turn right out of the door into the kennel. I'll build a 6' fence from corner to corner of the decks connecting the two. I'll tear out all the landscaping and eventually put concrete in there. The small deck will be built so that it will also serve as the dog house. I'll build a small storage box in there for supplies and will eventually add some sort of overhead cover.

Sounds like a solid plan. When you rebuild the deck are you going composite?

Most likely. I've seen some decks done with composite that didn't hold up well enough to justify the cost IMO, but that was early in the technology. I'd assume it's gotten better in the last decade.
