We’re forecasted too get 1.5” of rain through New Year’s Eve. Should be either #3 or possibly #2 wettest year on record.
I just ordered some polystyrene and several thousand hooks. I plan on starting production in the next week or so. See how much damage I can do on 10lbs. of expandable foam between now and then.

- A soggy New Year's Eve storm could propel Columbus into the wettest year on record, with data extending back to 1879. The previous wettest year, in 2011, brought 54.96 inches of precipitation (rain, melted snow). If the city receives .80 inch or greater, this year will be a record-breaking year. The calendar year brought a wide variety of weather, which is not unusual, but the extremes were dramatic. A bitterly cold early January, with three consecutive subzero mornings, started the near year in 2018. However, it was followed by a very mild February. The script flipped in March and April with bouts of cold weather and snow showers. Frosty conditions prevailed as late as April 30 in the Columbus area. Then came the rain --frequent and heavy -- during the growing season from May through October, with eight substantial rain events in excess of 1.5 inches. Temperatures ran well above normal through the summer and early autumn, until a pattern change on Columbus Day. Winter seemed to get off to an early start with very chilly weather and snow showers in November, but December closed on the mild side, and less than a half-inch of snow for the entire month.
